I'm not against plastic surgery in principle. If I had big bucks, I'd have some done myself.

But teens are too young for it. And having yourself permanently made over as the hottie du jour is ridiculously short-sighted.

    2. What is your opinion on career/money status? For instance, everyone always says "It's not what you do, or how much you make, it's who you are." And then these people go for the ones making 6 or 7 figures a year.

Money is important. We all need the basic necessities. Not having enough money for necessities or bills will make anyone miserable, no matter "who you are".

Beyond that, I agree that values are more important than money. I wouldn't take a big-bucks job that didn't fulfill me or that was contrary to my values.

I also think that in general work plays too much a part in people's lives.

    3. Are looks important? Same scenario as above where people say "it's the inner beauty that counts", but still go look for the beautiful people.

    *sigh*

To me, looks matter in that I expect people to do the best with what they have. I wouldn't avoid anyone because their eyes are crooked, they have skin problems, whatever. But I do find greasy hair, sloppy dress, and that sort of thing to be a turn-off.

That said, I do ocassionally get excited by classic "good looks". Can't deny it.

In general, though, looks become almost totally irrelevant to me once I get to know someone. Ex: Years ago I was introduced to a guy who was so attractive it was truly distracting. It was difficult for me to have a conversation with him because of it. We've know each other since and are now good friends. He's still gorgeous, but I don't notice how attractive he is anymore. He's just him. Ex: On a less platonic note, I've met several "plain" people who became very physically attractive to me once I got to know them.

As for myself, I wish I were more attractive. But I'm not going to lose sleep over things I can't change.

WHOA, FiveBearRugs! Hard questions! Jeez! I just wanted to post a couple I thought of -- didn't realize I was going to have to take a Philosophy final exam!
So how would YOU answer those questions?

    ---------------------------------------

    1) Select the sentence that best describes how you feel.
    a) Eating is a task. No sense wasting time.
    b) Eating is a social event. The food is secondary.
Include in your answer whether you are a fast or slow eater.

    2) Do you give/donate when you attend the following functions? How much?
    a) Graduation party of a distant cousin
    b) Wedding reception of a distant cousin
    c) Funeral visitation of a not-too-close co-worker's spouse

    3) When you were in college, did you see your roommate(s) naked? If you didn't go to college... Is it because you didn't want to be seen naked?

    I do not donate.

3)When you were in college, did you see your roommate(s) naked? If you didn't go to college... Is it because you didn't want to be seen naked?

Didn't have roomates, and never saw anyone naked while in college, except for that dude in a Toga who flashed the audience during Homecoming Parade.

I would definitely do as much as I could.

    2) Do you restrict yourself by saying things like "I will never go there/do that/own this..." etc etc?

Yep, but mostly for things that I don't care for or perceive would be "bad", i.e., "I will never get a tattoo/do this type of work again/smoke", etc.

    3) What attracts you most to another person: personality or looks?

Bein' a 26 year old male, I'll admit that that can be a toughie. The question isn't "What do you value more", but "What *attracts* you more", and sometimes a pesronality does it right away, but yeah, there are also times when I see a dern fine specimen, and mm-mm-MM...

That would probably be my poor little Mommy the time she burnt a turkey on Thanksgiving. :(

    2. Invent a new category for an awards show (Oscars, Emmys, etc.).

Best Non-Original song in a film for the Oscars - this category would cover the older songs and covers of older songst hat appear in films

    3. I'm comin' over to *yer* place tonight fer dinner (I wish!). What ya gonna fix fer me? :)

Hmmm, chicken fajitas, rice, borracho beans, strawberry margaritas, and for dessert - some parts of Dozer buildings (gotta fit the Muppets in here somehow! hehe)

    1. If a neuromuscular disease ran in your family and you suddenly noticed you were having intermittent muscle twitches that were occuring quite frequently, would you talk to your doctor about getting an appointment with a neurologist to have them check you out even though you were about 10 years younger than you expect symptoms to start appearing?

    2. Do you do any volunteer work and.or donate to any charities? If so, which one(s) and how did you select it(them)?

    3. Do you regularly donate blood?

Interesting question, but yes I would. My father had ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)

Christmas time I always donate to the Boys& Girls Club and also to a local orphanage. Whenever I clean out my closets I give the stuff to the local women's shelter.

    3. Do you regularly donate blood?

No....I never have, makes me squeamish

OMG yes...When my hubby and I moved from Salt Lake to Park City it snowed a ton that weekend! Power lines were down, neighborhoods didn't get plowed for days. During our last trip up Parley's Canyon we had a caravan of three cars in a blizzard going 30mph...not so much fun.

    2. What is your favorite book that has been made into a movie? Which was better, the book or the movie?

the Lord of the Rings movies, I like the movies a little bit better at times because Tolken tends to blah blah blah too much sometimes, besides the imagery is fabulous.

    3. What are your favorite pair of shoes?

well thats tough, I like my black mary jane heels, but I also like my flip flops for the comfy factor.

I'm not married, but I could be quick to commitment. I have no need to let my eyes wander. :)

    2. Is there someone in your family who is afraid of using the internet to meet friends?

    Probably my mom.

    3. Growing up what kind of pets were you not allowed to have?

We've had a dog and goldfish; my mom doesn't like cats or snakes though.

Horror novels and books on advertising & marketing. Actually, they are all more connected than one might think. ; )

I let my self wallow for a bit and then tell myself to snap out of it. But I do allow some "wallow" time.

Laying in bed trying to get to sleep.

    3. Describe the personality of your innervoice (a wiseguy, a comforting type, a nag, etc.)
She is a very very insecure shy timid voice. I try not to listen to her too much.
