I guess I'll go with Paramount's Great America in Santa Clara, CA. It's been around since 1976 when it used to be owned by Marriott and had the Looney Tunes walking about. In 1987, Bugs and Friends left for Magic Mountain and we got the HB gang instead: Smurfs, Yogi, Scooby, Flintstones, Jetsons, all of them. Around 1993/94 the place was bought by Paramount and so movie memorabilia was scattered around the park, along with posters of current movies. The Star Trek gang also came along. Some of the rides were given 'movie' names like Drop Zone Stunt Tower (*really* high freefall) and the awesome Top Gun rollercoaster. The following year, part of the HB area became Nickelodeon Splat City, in which a walkthrough waterworks playground was added. The Double Dare Stunt Show was also added (which I got to participate in once), and there was a lot of emphasis on GAK (the green slime). Not a lot of Nick stars at the time, save for Ren and Stimpy. The Nickelodeon area is still there, with recent additions like Rugrats, Spongebob, Dora, Blue, Jimmy Neurotic and The Fairly Oddparents. This year, the Crocodile Dundee waterpark (yes, an actual waterpark with waterslides, etc.) opened INSIDE Great America. Think of a mini-Typhoon Lagoon replacing Space Mountain and Star Tours. With the addition of CrocDundee, the 2-yr-old "flying" coaster Stealth (you lie on your back the whole time) was taken out. 1. What type of grill do you use to barbecue: gas? charcoal? both? 2. Do you like to slow-cook your foods when barbecuing? 3. Do you ever use the indirect method when barbecuing? Indirect is when you have the flames around the food, usually good for ribs, roasts and whole poultry, it cooks like a convection oven.

It meant I didn't have to wear shoes for 3 months!!! 3. If you could go back and relive one summer in your lifetime, which one would you choose, and why? The summer I spent here in Idaho with my dad and his wife when I was 13 (we lived in Indiana). A lot of it was fun, but there was a lot of stuff that happened that I would like to go back and fix so it would have been the best summer ever!
