She had a table top around her waist (like a nightstand), a lamp shade on her head and several items that would be associated with a one night stand on her nightstand! Very cute! 2. What is your favorite treat that you seem to only make/receive at a holiday time (Christmas, etc.). For example, mine is my grandma's recipe for cranberry salad that my mom only makes at Thanksgiving. The candies I make to give us gifts Christmas time, especially the buckeye balls (chocolate covered peanut butter balls) and the fudge 3. How many house plants do you have? Zilch!

I hate not having it up! This year I'll do it, no matter what. (I should start getting the boxes out NOW!) 2. Do you celebrate Halloween at all? Oh, yeah! I love Halloween -- what a great combination of morbitity, darkness, and fun for all ages! I haven't gone all out with dressing up in a few years, but I do always take a group of kids trick or treating. I love it that people get enthused about decorating their places, that they're willing to get a little silly for a day, that creepy stuff goes front and center, and that kids have so much fun with it. 3. What other holiday do you enjoy celebrating and what do you do to celebrate it? Thanksgiving. I get together with friends, eat, and enjoy not having an agenda for a day.

Originally Posted By goodgirl 1) If you decorate a Christmas tree, does it have a "theme"? If so, what is it? (Substitute question: How do you feel about not having a tree?) My Christmas tree doesn't really have a theme, but it is a collection of memories. Whenever I travel I purchase a Christmas ornament for the tree. As I hang each ornament I'm reminded of special trips I've made with girlfriends, sisters, or to special places like Nashville, Albequerque, Seattle, and, of course, Disneyland. In addition to my memory ornaments my tree does have two other types of ornaments. One are cats and the other are angels. And, several are actually kitty angels. 2) New Year's Eve. What's the perfect celebration? I've been to big parties and had fun but my favorite is to have a group of friends and family over. Lots of great foods to snack on. Play some interactive or fun games. And then as midnight draws near, turn on the TV to do a countdown and then share hugs and kisses all around. 3) Thinking back on past holiday seasons, what do you vow/hope to do differently this year? I did this a few years ago and it made for a wonderful December. Around about now I start making plans: Who is getting gifts; what cookies are my sis and I going to bake on our cookie baking 2-day marathon (we don't do this every year but this year will); what will the holiday menu be; and most important, what is my budget. I start my shopping early, going to interesting little shops on my lunch hour. I have a weeks vacation in December. I'm going to DL Dec. 4 thru 8. Dec. 9 thru 12 will be my time to do the cookie baking, set up the tree and put up the decorations. That leaves the second half of the month to enjoy time with friends, do some volunteer stuff (I deliver poinsettias to shut-ins and the elderly), and enjoy the season.

My combined traits of dogged persistence and complete lack of ability to judge size always prevail, however, and we haul home the Sequoia. Mr. Glitter once had to stand on a large stepladder which was precariously perched on a table in order to decorate the top of the tree. What can I say, one of the reasons we bought this house is because I loved the soaring cathedral ceilings; might as well take advantage of that 20-foot living room ceiling! The decorations are a combination of old ornaments from my childhood trees (including a ratty but highly beloved little Santa that is nearly 150 years old), ones that Mr. Glitter and I have received as gifts or purchased throughout our marriage, and the ornaments we buy each year for the kids, as well as the ones they've made. It's probably a big old mess in anyone else's eyes, but it's beautiful beyond words to us. 2. My perfect New Year's Eve celebration is exactly the same as goodgirl's--see above! 3. The vow for this year's holiday is the same as always---pare down the "stuff" and busyness and spend more time enjoying family activities and charitable efforts. We have actually been moving toward this goal for several years. Each year is a bit better than the last, but we've still got a ways to go. ************************************** These were great questions--definitely worth at least one more round!

I have a TON of Disney character ornaments, but not only Disney, so not really a themed tree. There are other ornaments from places we have visited. Also we by a dated ornament every year. 2) New Year's Eve. What's the perfect celebration? I have done the going out and the staying in thing, but I do prefer to stay in with family and friends. This year we are going to do a Murder Mystery party for New Year's Eve I think. 3) Thinking back on past holiday seasons, what do you vow/hope to do differently this year? I honestly can't think of anything! The only thing that comes to mind is that I really want to make it to Puerto Rico to do my shopping this year. Me and my hubby, make a weekend away out of it.

No theme, well I have a lot of lenox ornaments, but not all lenox...I would say nope, no theme. 2) New Year's Eve. What's the perfect celebration? Well, early in the evening I would like to dress up and go out to a nice restaurant then come home and spend the rest of the day with my kids. 3) Thinking back on past holiday seasons, what do you vow/hope to do differently this year? spend too much money on ingrates!!! LOL. 1.Who is your favorite person to visit WDW with?why? 2.have you ever had a bad time at WDW? If so, why? 3. What were you doing on 9/11 3 years ago?

I do really enjoy going with my husband but he gets tired of it easily. This summer I discovered that LP people are the best to visit DL with! It's nice to go with people who understand my enthusiasm and desire to stay from open to close! 2.have you ever had a bad time at WDW? If so, why? I've had a few times at DL that weren't so pleasant because there were tons of people and huge lines and DH was crabby. So we'd go back to the hotel or over to DCA and come back later! 3. What were you doing on 9/11 3 years ago? I had just moved to Vegas then and had been teaching only a few weeks. I was getting ready for work when I saw the news report about the first plane. Not long after I saw the second plane hit and I got VERY scared. The whole drive for work I could barely keep my eyes off of the Vegas Strip, thinking that a plane may be headed there. The day at work was awful because my kids had no idea what was going on so I had to stay upbeat. I had no TV or radio access and I just wanted to go home and be with my family. Same questions as above.

They're both very knowledgeable about the Parks, and both have a deep affection for them, but they view WDW through different colored lenses. Their discussion, and their differing ways of expressing their enthusiasm, would be fascinating. Plus they're fun guys. 2.have you ever had a bad time at WDW? If so, why? I visited WDW with five people who weren't as thrilled with it as I was. I ditched them and enjoyed the rest of the day by myself. Only bad thing: not enough time. 3. What were you doing on 9/11 3 years ago? I was at work. I walked downstairs and immediately noted that everyone was quiet and that the overhead radio that normally plays bland music was tuned to news. Shortly after that, fighter planes flew over our building. That continued for the rest of the day. It was frightening.

We have a two-story house with cathedral ceilings, a very open floor plan, and many windows, so I love the light, airy feeling it has, especially in those white-walled rooms. I could see possibly incorporating more color in the future, though. 3. Oh my, it would just take entirely too long to cover all of that. Let's just say that I'm a loveable and harmless neurotic and leave it at that. ************************************** Let's revisit some of my favorite questions from the past. . . 1. Do you think it's possible for a heterosexual man and woman to have a close, intimate, but entirely platonic relationship? Have you ever had one? 2. Survivor's coming up again. Which LPers do you think would be most entertaining to watch on that show? Why? 3. Did you ever pass up an opportunity/relationship/whatever that later caused you deep regret? What was it?

Do you think it's possible for a heterosexual man and woman to have a close, intimate, but entirely platonic relationship? Have you ever had one? Yes, possibly. If both parties are unmarried it might develop beyond platonic. However, in my case I had a close, intimate and totally platonic relationship with a guy who was married (and so was I, at the time). We worked in the same industry, shared work problems, industry problems, creative ideas, family problems, relationship problems, etc. Our spouses had met but the four of us rarely socialized together. In one instance, however, I sensed something from his wife. It was subtle and I can't even remember what happened that triggered some sort of alarm in my brain. But, I thought our friendship and we chatted and both agreed that for propriety's sake, perhaps we shouldn't spend so much time together. Luckily at the time I was changing jobs and so was he. I believe now, that if either or both party are married, it probably isn't a good idea. 2. Survivor's coming up again. Which LPers do you think would be most entertaining to watch on that show? Why? Oh gosh. Well, let's see. I think I would go to world events and round up all the ultra liberals and ultra conservatives and put them on the island. It might make for a an interesting show watching them all work together as well as compete against each other. 3. Did you ever pass up an opportunity/relationship/whatever that later caused you deep regret? What was it? No. There are however, several relationships I wish I had not invested so much time in. But I guess that's how we accumulate life's lessons. If I could do things over again, I wish I would have spent more time talking to my dad about his childhood, family and history.

WE'll start with a 7-layer salad, garlic bead, lasagna, fresh zucinni and onion saute. For dessert will have apple crisp with french vanilla ice cream. 2. Who is going to join us at the table? My hubby Gary, daughter Tricia and grandson Andre. 3. Would you like me to help with the dishes? Wash? Dry? I have a dishwasher, so I'll put them in while we chat. ----------------------- Let's give goodgirls questions another shot....
Originally Posted By Labuda I'm coming to spend the night! Instead of going out for dinner, you are going to prepare it! 1. What will we have for dinner? Homemade chicken tortellini or chicken pizza - your choice. Both items made 100% from scratch, including pizza dough, sauce, and the tortellini INCLUDING making the pasta by hand without using a machine. 2. Who is going to join us at the table? My beloved husband Eric, of course! 3. Would you like me to help with the dishes? Wash? Dry? Not necessary - we'll just throw 'em in the dishwasher and then chat or play a round of trivial pursuit. ----------------------------- Lather, rinse, repeat
