YES, I've read the Polar Express, it was my favourite Christmas book as a kid. My older sister, when she was 3, memorized the ENTIRE book and we have her on tape, "reading" it. She even knew when to turn the pages, and she couldn't even read yet. If it were me, I'd probably ask for the bell, as well.

    2. What is your favorite National Park to visit? If you haven't been to any, which one would you like to go to most?

Stanley Park, here in B.C., Canada is my absolute favourite, it's SO gorgeous to drive around at night. I went there two nights ago and there was a beautiful sunset and all the birds were migrating. Then at about 9 pm, at dark, the city lights were SO pretty (as was their reflection in the harbour).

    3. Are you a garage/yard sale junkie? If so, what has been your best find?

Yep, I also go to thrift stores frequently. My best find at a thrift store was a pair of expensive jeans (we're talking $200) that I paid $20 for, and at a yard sale, I found this really neat chair I have in my room now.

Yes. I was a good student. Obeyed the rules, got good grades, top of my class. I enjoyed literature classes in high school because I love to read. In college I loved the variety of classes offered, especially writing, speech, marketing. I hated accounting, ethics, business law.

    2. Do you play a computer game (eg. Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon...)

I have two experiences. In the latest: It is a Star Trek (I love ST) game. After an hour each day for three weeks I was finally able to get my character out of a cargo hold and across a pit of bubbling lava (you don't know how hard it was to live through that screaming when I missed jumping on the right rocks and she went down in the hot mess--and I had to start the game over). Anyway, when I last left off, she was hiding in a corridor with a Klingon shooting at her. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to fire my weapon so I gave up.

A much better game that I had a few years ago was also Star Trek. You flew to different planets and space stations. At each one was a puzzle of some sort that you had to solve and earn points. I liked this game a lot because you had to use your problem solving skills and most of the games were fun. However, at one point the game would lock up on that computer and I never did resolve it. I should install it on this newer PC and see if it will work.

Otherwise, I don't play games much because I spend my time on LP.

    3. Do you have a tattoo? If so, what of? If not, why not?

I don't have any tatoos. I am bothered by the permanency of them. I suppose I could get a teeny tiny one in a very discreet area of my body that know one would ever see but I would be too embarrassed to have anyone put it there and then I guess because it would be so discreet no one but me would appreciate it. Also, when I got my ears pierced in high school I fainted. So heaven knows what would happen if I got a tatoo!

Since there are only 4 of us in the office, there are not many heated debates. We all seem to be of the same political persuasion, although I haven't asked that question directly. We all watched the most recent debates and talked about them the next day.

    2. Is there someone in your department or section that drives you nuts? Why? What one thing could they do that would improve the working environment for you?

No one drives me nuts. My only complaint is that everyone (but me) prefers to work without outside noise (like music) and it can get extremely quiet during the work day. I will sometimes bring in headphones and a tape or CD player when I am writing and need some background noise to keep from fading away.

    3. What talents or skills do you bring to your job that make you successful?

I am a good writer and researcher. I enjoy people, I am good with them and I like to go out of my way to help them. These are all important talents in my work.)

I will be the "Where's the Beef?" lady.

    2. Do you have a favorite of the new TV shows this season?

I really love American Casino, but that was a summer show. I really like LAX the best of this year's new shows so far.

    3. What is your snack of choice at the movies?

Milk Duds and a diet coke. Or, popcorn and M&M's.

Ursula, it sounds like you are looking for some advice on a personal decision you have to make! This is a difficult question for me to answer because I'm happy with where my company is going. I love my job. I could think of a new job that could be created using my current skills that would be interesting and definitely look good on my resume but it will be a couple years before they would ever offer that type of position. So, let me assume that the above question is based on your current situation. Some things I would ponder:

--Is the direction the company taking so bad that for moral, ethical, financial, stress reasons I should not stay? If so then be true to 'yourself' and don't take the job. Instead, focus harder on getting out.

--If the direction the company is taking is disagreeable to you but tolerable, then consider the new position.

--Despite what the company does or doesn't do, how do you see yourself in this new job? Will you be challenged? Stressed? Happy? Proud? Overworked? What are the updsides and downsides?

--If you take the new job--and given your answers to the above--would you be willing to give the company two years of your life to see if it works out for you?

    2) What is your favorite 1980's band?

I don't have a favorte band per se. I have eclectic tastes in music - a little of everything by everyone.

    3) Please tell us about the incident that freaked you out the most.

Several years ago I participated in the care of my 24 year old niece who had a brain tumor. We were in the final stages. About a month before she died. Luckily we were able to care for her at her father's (my brother) home. Anyway, one of the things we were told would happen was that she might have seizures from time to time. On one of my shifts, she did. I knew how to deal with it but I felt so afraid and helpless because there really isn't anything you can do. Afterward I sobbed quietly (It was 2:00 am and everyone was asleep) wondering "why me." Later I realized the absurdity of that thought. Subsequent seizures, however, were easier to work through, but you still feel helpless.

It's just too corporate and too much red tape to even get a new pencil around here.

The new position (if I get it) is more money and will be easy for me. I just want to work in the travel industry, I think.)]

The Price is Right, then I watch old movies on AMC.

    2. Describe what kind of spirits are in your liquor cabinet. Cheap brands or trendy stuff?

We drink moderately pricy Scotch, Glenfidditch and Laphroig, and I love imported beer, Guinness and Newcastle are in my fridge always. For Vodka, it's the cheap stuff because we just mix it in with other stuff. Gin-I drink Bpmbay Sapphire. Wines, well, we drink whatever people bring over, cheap or otherwise.

    3. Do you send out a Christmas or holiday letter? Christmas cards? Family photo card?

Christmas cards. But, each card gets a personalize note that we agonize over and handwrite very carefully.
