Originally Posted By Lisann22 1. Do you have a poignant or happy holiday memory that always surfaces this time of year? If so, care to share it? The first year that my whole family decided no more gifts that we would sponsor another family instead (which is pretty incredible when you know that my family is full of single mom's barely making it). But being we are a big family and stick together, no ones ever goes hungry or doesn't have a home. We went through a friend's church and discovered a Romanian family that had just arrived in the States, 13 people in all. They had nothing. We all pitched in and got them clothes, food and toys for the kids. The best part though was that they came to our family Christmas and have for the past 10 years. They became our friends, learning English, etc through our friendship. 2. The Charlie Brown Christmas Album: Has there ever been a better, more bittersweet Christmas album or what? Um, ok. 3. Sappiest holiday movie moment that gets you every time? Yep, the end of "It's a Wonderful Life" when they all sing Auld Lang Syne and Harry Bailey toasts his brother George.

Originally Posted By TALL Disney Guy 1. Tell us about the one toy or gift you wanted badly when you were a kid. I'm answerin' this one in the "I wanted badly but never got it" sense---a plush Loyal Heart Dog. Maybe I didn't ask for him (which woulda been my fault), but I've wanted an original one ever since I was a kid... 2. What is the best gift you've given someone else? Probably a collage picture frame with pictures of Grandmommy 'n Papa Dan's house that I gave my sister (they're our mom's parents). Grandmommy designed their house, it's unique and always felt like a special, magical place to Tara and me, and since they were the grandparents who lived far away ('bout an hour), we treasure that wonderful abode.** **I realize people have family that lives farther away, but you have to know what we grew up with my dad's parents (Gran 'n Pop) like a mile away. lol So we didn't grow up seein' Grandmommy 'n Papa Dan as much. 3. What is your favorite Christmas carol? O Holy Night. It's so beautiful with a wonderful range of musicality---soft and poignant in some parts, triumphant and proclamative the next (is that a new word? lol). The music and the words really sink into my soul. It's just almost too numinous for words...

I'm sure I've posted this before, but we always get a live tree that is WAY too big because I am convinced that we need to maximize the use of our very high vaulted ceiling in the living room. Poor Mr. Glitter risks life and limb every year trying to decorate the top of it. We also tend to put the same things in the same places around the house each year. 2. You can have either one very expensive Christmas gift or several inexpensive ones; which would you prefer? Usually I would choose the several inexpensive gifts option. I am unusually un-materialistic in many ways, so I don't usually have any expensive things (or very many inexpensive things, for that matter) that I want. Now if someone felt the urgent, desperate need to give me, say, a trip around Europe or a really gorgeous diamond ring, I would certainly not ruin their fun by declining. ;-) 3. What "holiday food" would you love to be shrunk down and inserted into, left to indulgingly eat your way out at your leisure? Fruitcake. Honest. Yes, yes, I know; I'm a freak. ************************************** 1. You're going to be stuck on an elevator for fourteen hours. Which LPers (choose up to five) would you want to be stuck with? 2. Tinsel, garland, or neither? 3. How do you feel about candy canes in flavors other than peppermint? (Be careful. . . there is only one correct answer here).

Wow, I hate these but okay...because I like lively conversation: Inspector57 Kar2oonMan WorldDisney Roberts1398 Beaumandy - oh man this is cruel 2. Tinsel, garland, or neither? Tinsel on the tree, garland on the walls as border. 3. How do you feel about candy canes in flavors other than peppermint? (Be careful. . . there is only one correct answer here). I like the spearmint ones and once in Chicago I had butterscotch ones that were to die for darling.

Originally Posted By Kar2oonMan 1. You are guaranteed to be on the Amazing Race, pick an LP partner. I'd have to say Peeaanuut. I got a feeling that the boy knows how to drive fast when the situation calls for it, and with his knowledge of the CA vehicle code, tickets wouldn't be much of a worry. 2. What is your all time favorite TV game show, why? I loved Match Game back in the day. It seemed so "daring" back then. There was a goofy one called "Make Me Laugh" where stand-up comics tried to make contestants laugh (how did they come up with that crazy title?). I love the crass commercialism of Price is Right, and who can resist attractive spokesmodels lovingly caressing boxes of Rice-A-Roni? But best of all would be Survivor, with the Apprentice quickly catching up to it. Every time Survivor appears predictable, they simply change the rules and mess up everyone's plans, which I love. 3. If you could give 3 LP'ers a non-material gift for this Christmas season who and what would the gifts be? Wow, this is difficult. Harder than I thought to try and think in non-material terms, plus, I don't want to exclude or single anyone out in an embarassing way. I'm going to cop out a bit and say that there are a few LPers who truly deserve to get the gift of a freakin' break in life, and I sincerly wish that for them. They know who they are, and many of us do, too. Also, there are a few LPers who are struggling with health and financial issues, and for them (trying to be non material) I wish them comfort and peace and the knowledge that things do eventually get better. Boy, that sounded like a "safe" cop-out, but I really do mean it.

Hard to say, but I'll go with Match Game - it was just soooooooo fun and FUNNY! I loved Gene's rapport with Brett, Charles, Richard, and all the other guests! 3. If you could give 3 LP'ers a non-material gift for this Christmas season who and what would the gifts be? happiness and peace of mind for all three - JBStew, MissCandice, and DreamFairy --------------------------- 1. Name at least 5 of your favorite songs, and give reasons if there are any (i.e., song reminds you of your first love, just makes you feel happy because it's so upbeat, etc) 2. Pool Joke or Cake Joke? Explain. 3. Should I bring DH to the 50th, or go it alone?

How Soon is Now from The Smiths, pretty much sums up my teenage years, full of angst and staggering shyness. b. Love Comes Tumbling from U2...a beautiful song, and one that I listen to when I am down. c. Blue Monday, New Order..can anyone not dance around when this comes on? d. Prison Sex, Tool...um,no comment. e. Love Will Tear Us Apart, Joy Division..best song EVER. 2. Pool Joke or Cake Joke? Explain. Pool Joke, cuz I appreciate what Toonie was trying to say, even though it all blew up in his face. 3. Should I bring DH to the 50th, or go it alone? I'd say no. He'd hate the crowds, and wouldn't even get why it was such a big deal. Off-season is the best time to bring people that are not "disney freaks"
