Hi! I'm WonderingAlice (that's the way my name would have appeared if I hadn't messed up the registration ;-) aka Kimberly.

A Disney Dork for 45 years now, my first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth was in 1962 when I was four years old. Mom and Dad would take Kevin (my little brother) and I pretty much every year when we lived in So. Cal., and if I'd known then what I know now - that we lived only 32 miles from Disneyland - they would NOT have gotten off with so few visits. ;-) I think Dad drove us around in circles to make it seem longer to get there, and to complete the illusion, we'd even stay overnight at the Candy Cane Inn (back in it's old '50s-style Christmas motif). Always made it back home MUCH quicker. *L*

Still made regular trips to my favorite place after moving to Las Vegas in July 1969, thanks to my best California friend and her generous mom who put me up (or put up with me ;-) for two weeks during the summer of 1970, and annual school trips beginning in junior high helped. I kept making the 240 mile trek back to Disneyland throughout my adult life.

Got my first AP in December 2003 when Mr. Alice (not yet my husband at that time) and I decided we would be returning OFTEN, so we both went for it.

Though he balks at the idea ("What part of 'retired' do you not understand, Kimberly?"), I would love for Mr. Alice and I to work at Disneyland once we retire from our 'real' jobs in a few years. He's perfectly dry-humored and TALL to handle Haunted Mansion duties. Would love to see him in that outfit! I'd work anywhere... though I really couldn't handle 'protein spills' (I'd only make them worse). My dream spot would be Alice in Wonderland (duh... ;-)

My freshman year of college I met my sweetie, Chris. Long story short, we met through my cousin who lives in Las Vegas. We did the long distance dating thing all through college and, after graduation, I packed up and moved to Vegas.

April 15, 2003 he proposed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle on his first trip to Disneyland since he was quite small. (It was while I was planning for that trip that I first got on LP!) We wanted to get married when I was off of work and didn't want to wait a whole year so we threw together a wedding in three months.

Last August we had our first baby, a little boy named Jacob. He's the cutest, sweetest little man! He's also quite the little troublemaker. Jake's walking now so he's into EVERYTHING!

This month I will finally be getting my Masters! I graduate on the 24th with a degree in Elementary Literacy. In the fall I will be a kindergarten teacher for the first time!

My real name is Paulette and I'm 45. I reside in Yakima, Washington with my husband (A Goofy Guy) of 17 years and four male cats. We have no kids but my kitties are my babies!

We became Disney fanatics in 1991 when we went to Disneyland for the first time. We now have a "Disney room" where we watch tv and play on the computer.

We won't be able to make it to the meet this year, but we're really going to try to make it next year!

I was born and raised in sunny L.A. but moved to Sevilla, Spain 14 years and 3 months ago, wanting to add a little twist to my life. What I miss most about L.A. is my family of course, but DL comes in a very close second place!
( sorry if every once in awhile I don´t phrase myself correctly, I´ve been speaking spanish so long I tend to confuse my grammar!)

Up until the day I left L.A., for years I would visit DL about once a month, and if I had had a bit more money I would have gone more often. I could never get tired of visiting DL. So now, time has gone by, and I am sad to say it´s not the same. I´m too far away and must settle for visiting once every couple of years. <sigh>

Finding LP has been wonderful!! It´s a great way to keep in touch with what´s going on out there. I came across the page without even looking for it, I just think my husband wishes I hadn´t!

I´m always desperately trying to get out to DLP, it being so close to us, but it just never happens: work, money, our 2 year old boy, etc... But I did buy myself a piggy bank not too long ago to start saving up to go (I just feel like I´m a committing a mortal sin not having gone yet)

Anyway, my log in name comes from my great love for the tiki room and everything about it, it´s always been a favorite of mine, ever since I was a little tiny tot. It´s always a definite must on my trips out there.

Well, that´s about it. Glad to be here and hope to have many a chat with y'all!!

    Congrats to Ginny!

So, I'm LuLu, I've been on LP almost since Doobie invented the Internet (7+ years, Hi -em!). And, I'm older than dirt (50). What else? I'm not nearly the Disney freak as most of you here, but I have my LP friends to tell me I just can't visit Paris w/o visiting DLP. My 17 yo daughter and I are leaving in a week.

I'm a freelance graphic designer, I work at my home in SoCal, and am a health nut. And I love the LP community!

My name is Gary and I've lurked for quite a few years but did not join LP until we had met Ruthie (RAM1984) and her DH in December. She got me more involved and I can't wait until I actually have a chance to meet some of the great people that I've gotten to know through the posts. My first trip to Disneyland was when I was 12, I had my honeymoon there in '74 and am lucky that my wife shares the same love of the park that I do. We average 5-6 trips a year and would be there more often if we were local. The name ShivaThDestroyer is actually from an old action/adventure paperback series and although it's not Disney related it's easy for me to remember. Just for the record, the only thing this Shiva might destroy would be a Disneyland churro. I work for a large Northern Calif utility company and have been there for 30 years. This means lots of vacation and vacation=Disneyalnd! I have a similar problem to Lulu's, my son-in-law's family lives about 2 1/2 hours from Paris and they keep inviting us to come over for a visit. We keep trying to think of a way that we can do that without them knowing that we were at DLP for several days before letting them know we are in country. (LuLu, we'll be expecting trip report when you get back!)
I think all of you are wonderful and want to thank you all for making me feel like part of the family. 30 days until the next trip! : )

I don't remember when I joined LP but I know it was to ask a question about an upcoming trip. I had been posting on another board and I found LP to be much friendlier so I stayed. I post mostly in all things DLR, Community and Gen Ent. I usually check the boards once or twice a day. I went during the Big Meet in 2005 and met some of you at the Lunchtime Lounge. I also met some super nice LPers at a mini meet in Oct. '05.

I was a stay at home mom with 4 kids for 23ish years and then started working part time at DH's office when his office manager/secretary/billing clerk decided to stay home with her kids. It was a slow time of year and we figured it would save us a few bucks. I've been there several years now and we are still speaking :) Also my paychecks go into a vacation account so our trips to DLR have been more frequent as well as longer :)

As a kid we went to Disneyland probably once every 5 years. My parents took my husband (then boyfriend) with us on a trip. That was when we found that "Monsanto" was a nice dark place to have a little kissing time :) We went to Disneyland on our honeymoon in 1974 and stayed at the Alamo for $15 a night.

We took our first DD to Disneyland when she was not quite 2 and then made yearly trips with all the kids for next next umpteen years. Usually going in January when it was quiet and cool :)

When our last DD was still home we started going to DLR twice a year. That was when our older kids started calling DLH our "condo." Occasionally one of the older kids and their friend or other would join in.

Now it's mostly DH and I going to DLR. We manage 4-5 trips down a year, typically spending 3-5 nights at one of the DLR hotels. We are always at the ready it any of our kids say "want to go to Disneyland?" and we'll usually have one of them join us (with their others) once or twice a year. This has also led to a Disney room in our house. Well it's sort of spread to the backyard a bathroom and a couple of bedrooms :) When you go to DLR there is always something new that we just have to have.

DLR is our kick back and relax place. We also enjoy going to Tahoe (North Shore mostly), Reno, Las Vegas, Carmel and Cambria.

We walk the dog every morning (we now know every dog and their owner) in a one mile radius. We are trying to eat healthier and lose some weight so we can continue with our Disneyland trips (and all that walking) for years to come :)

Oh, I tend to post more info. than is necessary. I just get on a roll ;)

Yea, probably spoken by someone in their early 30's wishfully thinking. That said, however, if 50 is older than dirt then my age of 59 next month must be way older then dirt. BTW, there are days that 59 feels like 59. Just can't escape it. :)

I never went to DL growing up- I know I was mistreated.lol I went a couple of times for day trips in my young 20's when my sister moved to Ca. I thought it was a fun place, but didn't really feel the magic. We took our first family vacation there in '96 when my oldest was 4 and DS2 was 18 mo. We loved it and decided we would go back every 2 years.

Our deep appreciation of DL came in March of 2003. ( my apologies to those who have heard this) It was the darkest point of our lives. We had just found out the DS4's heart was becoming much worse from a disease he had since a baby and then my best friend's youngest son ( who was my youngest son's best friend) drowned in a neighbor's koi pond. We were so full of grief and fear that we almost cancelled our upcoming trip. But we went and something magical happened. For moments of time, we forgot our grim reality and immersed ourselves in fantasy. Disneyland then changed from being a luxury to a necessity. We had, what we call, our "crazy year of Disney" going to DL 4 times in 18 months- a big deal for us. Now we try to go 1x a year- not as often as we'd like but all that we can manage. My boys have very little interest in taking any other kind of vacation- except for a Disney Cruise which we are doing in a month! Luckily my DH is as much of a Disney freak as I am. I have friends who tell me their husbands would never be willing to go to Disneyland. Sad, very sad.
