We lived briefly in Santa Monica (otherwise we're New Jerseyites) and at least my parents had the sense to take us to DL! (Not so sure about my mom tho, going on rides at 8mos pregnant!)

We first when to DL for a family vacation when I was 12 or 13, and I was hooked. We went every summer after that until I was 18 or 19 and then I had a several year lull when I moved out and was on my own etc etc and we finally made it back in 2005. I don't plan on missing a year again...hopefully the new hubby will agree hehe. He's a DL fan though, I knew he was a winner when I was planning our last trip and was telling him we'd be in DL for 3 days and Universal for 1 and he said "why don't we just go to DL for 4 days?" Yeahoo! My dad is actually the one that got me onto LP probably about 2 yrs ago, before our 2005 trip. I'm sort of a sporadic poster... I too love all things disney, I have a disney room....several disney mosaic puzzles I've done on the walls, disney creatures and knick-knacks everywhere ) So that's me....just married, no kids yet, just 1 wacky dog....and counting down to DL! ;o)

Have fun in Paris, LuLu. I hear that you can now tell a four-star restaurant by the number of rats that are in the kitchen. I guess that means that those KFCs in NY were world-class dining establishments...

This is year seven. I wasn't the first, but I was right up there in the first months. I live in Los Angeles and I work in the film and TV industry. I married my husband at the DLH, we got engaged at Epcot and now my husband works at the studio. In my spare time when I'm working (it is slow at times) I try to post in all sections. I love meeting new people on the boards and I've met some very, very dear friends here. I go to DL about once a month, sometimes months go by and no visit, sometimes I'm there three weeks in a row. I am a huge POTC fan, both the ride and the movies. My office is decorated in Disney, but I have a growing POTC movie section. I am lucky enough to have an office-decorating budget. I am blessed to have two original posters from POTC 2 both the theatrical release and the advance. I am on the hunt for the originals of 1 and 3, now. I host the Enchanted Tiki Room Meet every July 17th. I also have a rather small obsession with handbags.

Prior to that, I was a government contractor, so I've been working on a Navy base for over 20 years now. Sad but true! I love Disney. I was born in/raised near Anaheim, so Disneyland has been a big part of most of my life. I've been there probably 35 times now. My kids have been every year of their lives (we live 3 hours away now), and last year we had deluxe annual passes so we went quite a few times. Our next scheduled trip is when I turn *gasp* 40 in January; we'd like to stay there for three days at the Grand Californian. We're also going on a 7-day Disney cruise to the Mexican Riviera in August of '08. Should be fun! My life pretty much revolves around my kids' lives which consist of cheerleading, dance, baseball and soccer. I coach cheer and my husband coaches baseball. We love it. That's about it! Not much else to tell.

Don't ever forget how you felt when you said "I do". Oh, and Kennesaw Tom lives in one of the most beautiful areas of our country. So, me? I live in South Florida but was raised a Marine Corps brat so I've lived all over the place. Part of my childhood was spent in Southern California and my first trip to D-land was in the mid-70s (I'm 37). My dad's company would rent the park once a year or so and we would go in the park from 8:00pm-1:00am or so and I thought I owned the place. It was then I decided I wanted to work for Disney. And, Disneyland was an "escape" for me as a child when my parents were going through a very difficult period. Going there was almost healing for me. In '92 I got the chance and worked on the WDW College Program (Jungle Cruise) where I fulfilled my dream. I also spent several years working at Cedar Point (where I met my wife of 10+ years) and Geauga Lake...both parks in Ohio. My wife was not much of a Disney fanatic but has become one since I've dragged her to WDW more times than I can count. My now four year old boy went to the park the first time at 4 months. My 1 year old girl went to the park for the first time at 7 months. Some people on LP know that we had to go through some extreme fertility measures for our two children and one of the greatest gifts of this site, in my opinion, is the support we can give each other even when...at other times...we can completely disagree and be stumped by each other. It is good to learn more about some of you who I've "known" for a long time...and to meet some new folks as well. Nice topic.

I have a crazy job and I find that logging on to LP helps me wind down, I read the boards a lot and chime in now and again. Disney and the community are good therapy. I always love reading about everyones favorite spots, snacks, stories, etc. My favorite rides are DLRR, POTC and HM. My favorite time of the year is the Holiday Season. I love to see the park decorated and everyone in the holiday spirit! I started attending Candlelight about two years ago and since then it has become a tradition for kicking off the season for us. We are also there for a week around Christmas. I will have to show my husband Ursala's post as I also have a small obsession with handbags....and shoes
