Now there was a time in the recent past where I couldn't tell, but seriously it's pretty easy to track now on the website. As for paying more than the rate, there are government taxes and so on that are passed through but I don't think they are significantly more than the rate, and I assume all of the carriers are that way when it comes to rates.

Now adding the apps that are available it gets even better. I look at the iPhone as a small computer as opposed to a blackberry or palm that is a beefed up cell phone. I use it as thats what it is intended for. heck, I dont really even use the iPod feature of it since I still have my 30gig 5g with me.

My rate plan is $58.59 and my bill comes to $79 and change. Why? I don't know.

You keep your talk minutes but ADD data (interent, email, etc...) and ADD text messaging. In MY case I will get unlimited of both so I will pay my talk minutes... PLUS $30 for unlimited data and $20 for unlimited TEXT, which will add a total of $50 to my voice plan, whatever that voice plan may be. If your iPhone is an additional line currently and you only are paying $9.99 and sharing your minutes with some other phones, then your minimum will be $9.00 plus the rates above for only the iPhone. Does that make any sense?

As far as older phones, people used to get the lighted cases that flash when you get a call or a blinking antennae or flashy colored cases. stuff like that. heck I remember at one point I had a clear case on my nokia and it flashed different colors whenever I got a call and the antennae blinked all the time and I wore it on my belt so that people could see that it flashed. as to today I have a plain black case and keep it in my pocket.

Almost any time you get a new phone you have to sign a new 2 year contract. You can buy the new iPhone for full price without getting a new contract just like other phones.
