the other thing I have thought about, but not in any big hurry for, is a boom box, my friend's mom works at Apple, at work she won an apple ipod boom box [she said it's actually made by Bose] it sounded pretty good. The only negative with that though is that it is dedicated to ipod. The ideal thing for me would be a Sirius/ipod/AM-FM radio boom box to carry around outside, picnics, beach, etc.

The iTV is a set of cables similar to the apple A/V cable, that is produced by Monster. A great set of cables, but not a dock of any kind.

BT: they are a good place to start with to simply hook up and play your ipod. Especially if you are watching videos or playing long play lists. And I think, but dont quote me, you can purchase the basic apple iPod dock if you want a stand for the iPod and that cable should be compatible. But don't quote me.

I am very disappointed, after plugging everything in, double checking all cables and wires, making sure the EQ was set up right, trying different speaker wire, etc. I couldn't figure out why the sound was terrible. I eventually pulled the back cover off the speakers, and I was devastated, the foam surrounds are rotted, they break to the touch. foam surrounds eventually rot, and since I've had these about 30 years I guess it's to be expected. I haven't used them in many years. Mrs Thunder reminded me that they are old and things wear out. She's right, I'm just bummed. In all the years I haven't used this system, I now terribly miss the quality sound it produced.

    oh well :(

Anyway, I googled my speakers and found that kits are available to replace the form surround suspension. Or, you can take in your speakers and they will do it. I opted to give it a try myself, and I bought the cloth surrounds instead of foam which are supposed to last long. I was sorta nervous doing this project myself as I had never done it before. However I also figured "heck their not working now anyway" and if I mess them up I can either take them in for about $400 and get rebuilt or buy new ones.

I was very pleased with the outcome, I received the kit, fairly simple instructions, called their tech service dept for some advice, and did it myself. It took a few hours but I am amazed at how great they sound, just like brand new again :)

Now I want the better dock and will use this ITV cable on the other TV/Audio surround system.

I just need a dock or cable for the car now :)
