And before we'd leave for Thanksgiving break we'd stop off there for their version of Thanksgiving dinner. I think we were the only students that knew it even existed.

In Northeast Philly if you walked into places like Ireland's 32, the Empty Glass, there would be more people in there from Ireland than from Philly. A place like the Irish Pub is the more touristy type place, but if you take the time to look for the out of the way places you can find some pubs with an ambiance you'd only get in Ireland.

They do tour outside of southern California. They also have sound clips on their site.

vdbad55 already mentioned Avalon Rising. Their website is http://www.flowinglass.com/ava

vdbad55 also mentioned Tempest. Their website is http://www.tempestmusic.com/ (and they'll be performing in Pasadena on Saturday 11/05 with The Wicked Tickers)

going to see Tull ( for the 14th time) - next month at the Civic Opera House in Chicago -- I am hoping for a half acoustic set since the place is where the Chicago Symphony plays-- and the sound is wonderful !!
