One interesting battle box office wise this fall will be between the Hemsworth brothers, Chris with Thor and Liam with Catching Fire.

Sure it's a great payday, but they must see some merit to doing a film like this.

Yep. Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando paved the way for "serious" actors to appear in these sorts of films, and Jack Nicholson put the exclamation point on it.

Boy Pearce was better in this than that awful Prometheus nonsense last year. He seems to be the go-to guy for weird prosthetics these days!

The 3D wasn't necessary, but unfortunately they didn't show the English version without it.

Interestingly in Germany/Austria the movie is distributed by a German company and not by Disney or Paramount.

I love Kingsley. I'm straining to think of a bad performance by him, and coming up empty. Every performance I can think of is either good or really good or downright great.

Of course, he came to prominence in Gandhi... when I saw "Sexy Beast" it occurred to me his character was essentially the anti-Gandhi; a full 180 degrees away. Yet he was just as believable. And in quieter roles where he's neither saint nor monster he just inhabits the character and makes you feel it.

As for RDJ, Chaplain was for me the movie where I said "Wow. He really IS a good actor."

On “Avengers,” the studio’s theatrical share (after theater owners and Par had taken their cut of the pic’s $1.5 billion global box office receipts) came to roughly $690 million. And with “Iron Man 3,” Disney’s cut is approaching $400 million.<<

So regardless, it was a good deal for Disney, had they not "bought out" Paramount then they would have gotten considerably less...

I love the movie and after The Avengers and X-Men First Class it's my favourite Marvel movie.

What did you Americans think about the music in the opening sequence? You will not belive it, but Eiffel 65's Blue was one of the most popular titles in 1999. I have to say, well done Marvel, since they paid attention to details.

No, that's just EVERY OTHER European hit of the last 20 years. We somehow got "Blue".

    You can have it back.
