They've also announced an opening date: January 11, 2017 The Daily Disney | Disney Tips & News - Orlando Sentinel
Stan Lee is so great. I know of course he is used to promote the attraction, but he seems genuinely excited. Recently I read somewhere that he had already filmed his cameos for the next four Marvel movies. Don't know if it's true.
This wouldn't surprise me. Considering how much post-production goes into those movies and how often they're released, I imagine that most of the filming is complete for the next 3-4 films anyway, so they have enough time to get them finalized before they hit theaters. Given his age, it would make sense to build in an extra buffer for his cameos just in case anything happens, but it doesn't seem all that different from a regular production schedule
Does anyone know if Stan Lee only appears in the Disney Marvel movies, or does he have cameos in the Fox and Sony movies too. Although I have seen nearly all of the X-Men and Spider-Man movies, I can hardly remember if he is in in their movies.
According to IMDB it looks like he has made an appearance in all of the Marvel related movies including X-Men. I'm going to to have to go back and watch them to validate now...LOL!
Here is a full POV video of the new Iron Man Experience at DLHK. It looks like a low rent Star tours. I really hope this doesn't end up at Disneyland. Feel the wrath of the Under Miner!
Yah, it sure seems to suffer from the "if you've seen one, you've seen them all" syndrome, especially since it seem to get every simulator gag along the way and the use of CGI is so obvious Having it start and end in the park is an interesting touch, but I'm surprised they left much of the backstage facilities in the shot, considering it was all CGI. Did we really need to see the HVAC unit on top of it's a small world?
What are they going to do when they put in the new castle? Does this thing have branching scenes like Star Tours II? It reminds me of the Spiderman ride without the dark ride element or a simulator found at the local mall. Even the queue isn't exactly interesting. No AA figures that I can see.
It looks like the ride is open. Watch the Full Iron Man Experience Ride at Hong Kong Disneyland | DailySuperHero.com It doesn't look bad, but I guess you have to experience it to give a proper rating.
I was lucky enough to visit HKDL last week and enjoyed Iron Man. Having never seen a Iron Movie (or avengers), the whole storyline was a bit lost on me, but it was a fun experience, but one I wouldn't repeat multiple times on a visit to the park. As a point of reference, I went on it once on my visit, where as I enjoyed Mystic Manor four times on the same day. It's a solid attraction, and a good fit for the park, it's obviously just the start of a major Marvel overhaul for tomorrowland.
Good to know that it is a fun experience. I'm still hoping for a Marvel themed land for WDSP in Paris and IME would be a good start.
