It goes something like this: Bill Clinton had an affair with an intern. When news was leaked, he denied it. Hillary denied it. Government officials, understandably, began an investigation. Bill continued, in an increasingly pathetic way, to deny it. He indignantly stated that the investigation was a Republican plot to undermine him. For weeks and weeks, he was on the offense -- costing taxpayers zillions of dollars to conduct the investigation he was obstructing. And Hillary was right there with him. Then it turns out that -- imagine! -- he was proven to be guilty of not only marital indiscretion but a workplace violation that would have gotten him fired in any other industry. "Oops. I guess I DID have sex with her. But I never lied about it." [No, not much. And not millions of dollars worth.] And Hillary was right there with him. Well, that is, she was with him until she moved to New York so that she could further her political career. Ick, Ick, ICK. In my mind, their marriage/partnership is a symbiotic business plan. But more relevant to me as a voter: they've both demonstrated (to me) that they will put their own personal agendas ahead of the good of the people they [oh-so-sincerely] say they want to serve.

I find it annoying to have a government that will waste money digging and digging til they FIND anything at all to hang someone with. All those millions and all they got was that he was cheating on his wife. Ask any woman if a cheater cheats again, and they will tell you yes. You can bank on that. Why we had to pay for that Starr investigation I'll never know. eh.. still I'd vote for him again, but not his wife if I can help it. I'd put her in the "ABB" category.. (anyone but bush). That said I still am not keen on any of the candidates. Maybe Senator Edwards wife could run. I'd vote for her. =)

It was the rest of it that turned me off both of them. But I don't want to derail this thread into a rehash of the Clinton/Lewinsky mess. And, as I said, I realize that the judgements I've come to are my own. I'm not trying to convince anyone else to make the same conclusions.

And I can't believe for a second that Hillary was shocked to find Bill lied about it. When the truth came out it was like someone telling me water quenches your thirst -- no kidding! I always thought her feigned surprise was her calculated "best" response to the scenario. Heck, even James Carvel (sp?) knew Clinton was full of it when he went on TV with his mad dog act.

Like when U.S. troops found little Fatima lying in a pile of rubble, and instead of bashing her head in with a rock, they brought her to a hospital. Ooh, what a miracle!! U.S.A. number one! Thanks, CBS, for turning Iraq into a feel-good story for the "Baby Jessica Fell Down a Well" crowd. And, no offense, Fatima, but the real miracle in Iraq will be if we ever manage to get out. No, please, don't - don't tire yourselves out. >> Is this supposed to be funny? Does he think our troops go around bashing infants heads in? He smarmy, smug, he thinks he's better than everyone else. He's not funny. He's not clever. He's nothing but a jerk.
