Nice try, Beau, but it's just the opposite. Those who argue against global warming are almost always "scientists" employed by oil companies and the world's largest pollutors. Nope, no conflict of interest there.

Now if we look at stats, in the state of California the actual largest polluter isn't cars or "oil companys" as you said its from grass fires, kinda like whats going on right now.

The " scientists " that claim global warming is a result of man made activity are always going to be liberal activst types who have an agenda to scare people into changing their behavior so more $$$$ will go to their " research ". Fact is, the temp. is basically the same as it was 150 years ago and ice caps are getting THICKER in many places. Global warming is simply a bogus issue pushed by enviromental freaks and terrorists who want to weaken America.

I think a better question would be why is the US not producing more biodiesel and ethanol fuels? These fuels are domestically produced, help the farmer ( something that wouldn't hurt our economy ) and keeps the US dollar here. Why aren't we embrassing diesel cars more like Eurpoe? At least you can run biodiesel on any diesel engine. France is the largest producer of biodiesel in the world. Why can't we have that distinction? How about ethanol, Brazil is almostly completely self sufficient when it comes to gasoline because they produce so much ethanol ( all from sugarcane crops ). Don't get me wrong, I think that since the US is producing more biodiesel and ethanol each year thats its great. But we can easily do more. Biodiesel and ethanol are considered to be environmentally "neutral" since the same amount of CO2 that they release they are placing back into the atmosphere.

In our time of great info the thing that "chaps my rear" Jim is the limited amount of truth that is aval out there. I TOTALLY agree with your coment. I love the fact that these 'oh so concerned "companies are saving the world by charging more money. If the driving of Hybrid cars would help the global warming issue. Would it not be to the better ment of all to make them afordable to all, and not to only the rich? I would love to get a car that has that sort of MPG , not to mention it's advantage to the enviroment. but at 30G plus ( Canadian pricing) there is no way I can aford one. I do not think that the risk to Global warming is near as dramatic as the desire to scare people in to spending is profitable. It's time to put the fear-mongers into the poor house. Instead of buying their mega doller babys

One thing I do know, using common sense, is that, if we are coming OUT of an ice age, then we must have had warmer temperatures prior the the current ice age we are still coming out of. Think about it.

Like it or not however, the fossil fuels pumping out these greenhous gases are gong to run out anyway someday. We've got some, which will last us a while I guess, but its better to plan what everyone will do when it does run out. Might as well try that new fangled renewable energy.. lol. You'll have to by your pension age anyway, even the oil tycoons children will...
