But at some point in one's life, one becomes reluctant to make a fool of themselves in front of others, unless of course drinking is involved. I think GF provided a fun atmosphere for everyone, and I don't mean because people got three sheets to the wind.

Did you post a review or thoughts about the show yet, Lee? If not, what are your thoughts? I was supposed to be there Thursday, but had a bit of a disaster that kept me in FLA.

That happens a lot. I still wonder about the thought process of a show that shuts down one huge area of a park nightly (and one that looks and feels so much cooler at night) and turns the other into a giant, booze-filled rave as a holding pen ... but time will tell whether this was smart or not. <<I think it is time for some new blood in the entertainment folks.>> You know who agrees with you? Al Lutz! Really! I think it is time for some new blood in the exec ranks myself.

Originally Posted By FerretAfros "So, it's safe to say that I will NEVER dance in public, so would Glow Fest be boring for me?" Well, since you don't drink, and you don't want to dance, I would have to say no, but there's just something about the atmosphere that's really fun to watch. "Or is it fun even if you're NOT going to dance?" Absolutely! I'm sure your kids would enjoy it, and it's a blast just walking through and people watching. They have a neat setup near the Hyperion, where you dance on painted spots, and your image is projected on the side of the building. It's kind of abstract, so from the entrance to HPB we didn't even know that it was done live, it just looked like a video loop. I think that would be fun to check out, even if you don't want to be dancing in the streets. There's also just a really fun party vibe going on over there. We were too tired to stay and dance, but just passing through, it was the highlight of our already-impressive night. Sadly, it looks like it's just a summer thing. If recent history is any indication, they will probably bring this back next summer, but it will likely stay a summer-exclusive for quite some time. The spots on the ground for the projection thing are painted on the pavement (you could still smell the paint Friday afternoon), which looks like it will be the next area to get torn out for the trolley line, so who knows if that will still be around next summer. With rumors swirling about redoing the Hyperion facade, it might not last too long. They could always put in temporary spots on the ground (think contact paper), and project onto a non-flat surface, but we'll see what happens. After last year's lackluster Nightastic concept, summer really seems to be taking off in style this year!

Originally Posted By WorldDisney I agree with FerrotAfros! Yeah, if you dont drink or dance, then its not going to be as fun of course. I didnt see as much because we just got there too late, but the music, images and all the lights alone was fun for me. I dont think I wouldve needed to dance or drink and I wouldve liked it because the music is fun. I cant wait to go back when its going full blast and just watch the kids go at it. I know SOME people just dont like the whole idea of a land turned into a night club basically, but no offense, this is the problem with some Disney fans---too uptight . Yes, things are suppose to be done a certain way and Disney is about 'family'. Well I was there, I saw families there. I even danced with a 9 year old and her mother, so they are there as well. They found something that actually resonates with people AND for the first time, HPB doesnt look completely dead at sunset . The SAME people complaining about this area at night are probably the same people who spent very little time at HPB at night anyway or just a quick ride on TOT. Well its still there . But if its not your thing, certainly understandable and I dont blame people if they just dont like it of course. But it does seem to be a hit with most. And yeah, its a summer event for Nightastic. I never been to this event last year, but I thought was kind of thing you do for it. And it wont last forever. I hope it comes back next year. I mean this is probably DCA's most exciting summer EVER!!! The park is packed, day AND night, people are into WOC and now they got a fun party to keep them busy as well. And best news, its finally lessening DLs crowds a little bit at night as well I'm guessing. This is only a positive for the park as far as I'm concerned! Yeah, it looks bad in the day, but for a summer event people will live.

Personally I think that WDI Creative Entertainment have an admirable track record of late - with the sole exception of Snow White - The Musical all of the stage shows have been successful (and even Toy Story - The Musical tests well). The nighttime spectacles have been even more popular. The issue is with the local entertainment teams. Thankfully WDW Entertainment has removed Francois Leroux from his post as his appointment was a disaster. The quality of the entertainment is Florida remains dire. Disneyland Entertainment isn't much better. The problem is that shows linger around too long like Beauty and the Beast at D/MGM. Entertainment is usually the first budget to get cut as it is the low hanging fruit.

Things run forever. SW at DL was a disaster. How no one saw it coming in advance is beyond me. I haven't seen TS: The Musical, but everyone I know who has says it is very poor compared with others. And the new Villians Tonight on the Disney Magic, which I recently saw in person, is really pretty weak and not nearly as good as the Golden Mickeys it replaced. <<The issue is with the local entertainment teams. Thankfully WDW Entertainment has removed Francois Leroux from his post as his appointment was a disaster.>> Really? I guess that $5-milion dollar Tomorrowland disaster needed a fall guy. Is he with the company at all anymore? I'm surprised because Francois did a great job at DLP, yet did nothing right at WDW (except putting lights on the castle in winter). Wonder what the real deal was ... <<The quality of the entertainment is Florida remains dire. Disneyland Entertainment isn't much better.>> I've always thought DL was much better, even if that's not saying much. Still can't believe they don't have any parades at the park though. But there's always live entertainment whether it's jazz in New Orleans Square, Billy Hill in Frontierland, dancing at Carnation ... Tomorrowland Terrace too. ... And DCA as well, although not nearly as good as what the place opened with. <<The problem is that shows linger around too long like Beauty and the Beast at D/MGM. Entertainment is usually the first budget to get cut as it is the low hanging fruit. >> Lee, a decade from now Beauty and Beast will still be playing in FLA.
