I must admit that I thought it was mildly kooky that the show was selected for DCA as it had to be entirely repurposed for the park (ie. new sets, lighting, costumes and a slimmer book) which was almost as costly as an entirely new show. Entirely short-sighted by park management - if both the DCL and DCA versions had been developed in parallel they would have saved a bundle.

I just think NEMO is better and would be a fantastic replacement at the Hyperion. NEMO was "outsourced" , no? it was created by the "AVENUE Q" people. let the do another show for the Disney Parks. They would be great. Glo Fest looks fun. I like the comment that says it has the spirit of the original intent of Pleasure Island. One of my favorite Gay Days experiences is attending the private ticket parties at Typhoon Lagoon and Hollywood Studios. The vibe is so much fun - the music, energy, rides, and drinks. Those parties feel so adult yet still very "Disney". I am imagining glo fest feels similar. I noticed in FL that Hollywood Studios had a some kind of advertised dance party. I didn't check it out this visit. There is also some kind of dance party in FL's tomorrowland. A Stitch dance party I think. Maybe the parks will see more these dance parties all over - I did enjoy the new stage at Pleasure Island Marketplace and the live entertainment. The crowd gets involved too. Hey - fun is fun. if it works then I say go for it

Like most of the large-scale stage shows the creative director is a WDI cast member but all of the creative team are contractors (including Bobby Lopez - one half of the Avenue Q team - and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez). The Toy Story, Aladdin and Snow White musicals were executed in the same way.

Actually, when it comes to live entertainment, the opposite is true. Because of the number of popular theme parks Central Florida the pool of talent is comparable to Vegas for ready to go off the shelf entertainment.

But the number of actor/musician/singer/dancer wannabes is huge in LA, and some of them are hugely talented. And some of them find their way to DLR when they, like so many talented artists, can't get the jobs they came to LA for. I think that's what Dennis meant. I've always found the general level of talent much higher at DLR than at WDW.

It's scheduled to close on the calendar at 10pm every night for nearly the next two months. And, on nights where they add a third WoC showing at 11:15pm, the park hours get extended to 11pm. Glow Fest operates until park closing, including the extended 11pm closing if applicable that day.

DCA usually does close earlier that DL so I can see where you are coming from thinking they close early. During the summer, however, they do have extended hours until 10PM, unless management decides to throw in a third showing of WOC. In that case, DCA closes at 11PM. This allows GlowFest to operate for 3 full hours each night. If you are in the DL area, check out the LP meets section. Me and my LP friends would be glad to have you sign up!
