She has a beautiful home next to a lake, and I could have bought two of them for what we paid for a tiny house here. And they've got curling in Minnesota, another sport that fascinates me. I think Minnesota sounds darnright pleasant, in spite of the wind chill factor.

When there are warm days in summer, (aka road construction) then the humidity is near 100% and mosquitoes are everywhere. Then of course there are plenty of days with thunderstorms and tornados. Spring is hideous. It's starts with the snirt (a combo of snow and dirt), WINDY Days. And days in the 30's to 50's. BLEchhhhHH!!! Fall is awful if you have allergies!!!

My real impression is this...people outside of the south have issues. I mean, why do you think we don't have coronors down here in the deep south? It's because all of the DNA is the same or related, and there are no dental records that show people with actual real teeth.

After a snow laiden drive, I would finally make it into the office, walking from my car, two blocks in the blowing snow with rubber shoe covers, to put them all in the coat room and head for my office. Then all everyone would say at any mention of cold was..."Be glad you aren't in Minnesota!" There must be some truth to that since it was sort of the "norm" to hear it!!! Thanks, but no thanks, I went stir crazy and got enough cabin fever to last me 3 lifetimes in Omaha. What's more is, the first time my wife and I saw snow over a foot, was in Omaha. It was maybe 18 inches of real powdery snow...the kind that won't even stick together for a snowman. We went out into this outdoor courtyard at our apartment complex and literally PLAYED in the snow together! What did WE know? We had never seen snow like that except in Europe and that didn't count. Many adults would pass us by looking, then hurrying along as if we were totally mad, nuts, crazy and they may catch something! It was great fun...the first week or so...and maybe the first month...or three....

It stars Meryl Streep, Garrison Keillor, Woody Harrelson (no relation to LP Woody), Kevin Kline, Lindsay Lohan, John C. Reilly, Lily Tomlin, Virginia Madsen and others. <<..."Be glad you aren't in Minnesota!">> It's a Minnesota vs. Omaha thing. Whenever some Minnesota sports team threatens to leave the state, it is always said that without the (fill in the blank... Twins, Vikings, Timber Wolves, Wild); the Twin Cities would be nothing but a cold Omaha. For some reason our friends in Omaha seem to take offense to that. I have no idea why. ;-)
