And you know what? I'm sure he had good reason for whatever he told me. Yeah, SPP is a bit blunt at times, but those of us who are intelligent tend to lose patience easier than sheeple.

Is there not an "a" or "ah" at the start of that? It always sounded like that on Oz, when I first was exposed to this wonderful greeting, so when I use it, I do the "ah"... am I incorrect?

There was a resolution to go after Al Quieda and the Talyban however.

Ditto, but considering that I've only ever known three people who are practicing Muslims, I feel it would be unfair of me to say what you did since, well, I don't have that much experience with those who practice that faith. I'm MUCH more familiar with Jewish & Christian folks.

Resolution 1441 declared that Iraq was in "material breach" of the cease-fire under UN Resolution 687 (1991), which required cooperation with weapons inspectors. The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties states that under certain conditions, a party may invoke a "material breach" to suspend a multilateral treaty. Thus, the US and UK claim that they used their right to suspend the cease-fire in Resolution 687 and to continue hostilities against Iraq under the authority of UN Resolution 678 (1990), which originally authorized the use of force after Iraq invaded Kuwait.[47] This is the same argument that was used for Operation Desert Fox in 1998.[48] They also contend that, while Resolution 1441 required the UNSC to assemble and assess reports from the weapons inspectors, it was not necessary for the UNSC to reach an agreement on the course of action. If, at that time, it was determined that Iraq breached Resolution 1441, the resolution did not "constrain any member state from acting to defend itself against the threat posed by Iraq".[49]

I worked on some counter terrorist stuff before, and belive me, from the evidence in national security and terrorism intelligence, the more international legitamacy that can be garnered, the more fluid the ability to cut off terrorist sects.

I am not sad at the loss of this monster, I nearly lost my life because of him and food poisoning saved me. I did lose a work colleague I was supposed to be with and it has haunted me to this day. But I let my intellect lead me, not propaganda.

We're in agreement on this one, DD. I'm glad that Team Six went in, got the job done, and left. Quick burial at sea to respect Muslim tradition of 24 hr timeframe, and withholding of the gruesome photos.

I do not believe in capital punishment as a "deterrent" for crime, and firmly believe its general use is immoral 99% of the time. That being said, there are individuals who walk amongst us from time to time, who unfortunately rise to power as dictators and spread nothing but chaos and destruction, resulting in mass murders on a horrific level. Those are the individuals for whom capital punishment is the only affective deterrent, given the difficulty in containing and restraining someone with that level of influence. Osama was not your typical dictator, but the mindset was exactly the same.

Thankfully, these megalomaniacs are rare. But when they appear and gain massive amounts of power and control, you have to take them down. If that means an elite assassination squad, so be it.
