In Florida anything over 200 feet has to have a red aircraft warning light on top. Disney doesn't want a red light on top of the Castle, Tower, Everest, or SSE, so they all stay under 200. In the case of Tower it's close -- 199. But if the red light is placed in the tip of a wand, it can actually be part of the show. The other sparkles then help add to the overall effect. Pretty clever, actually.

I've seen thousands of people take pictures of themselves and family members with the wand in the background. I didn't like the fact that they put girls/women on Jungle Cruise. So what? Plenty of people tell me the gals make great skippers. I don't think the people who are constantly negative about something don't care. I just don't think they are creative and I certainly don't think they are worthy of giving much attention too. The people I work with who are constantly complaining are the one's who tend to get left out of important decisions.

God knows even I have posted a gazillion pics of SSE where the wand has managed to get in the shot. It's simply unavoidable... just like taking a picture of Cinderella Castle all dressed up for the happiest celebration.
