Glad to help, but keep the love ... send money instead ... we have a full-blown stock market crash going and I can't afford lettuce of any kind right now.

Money is a fleeting thing, however true love is forever.

it is if I am any indication - I am now going into my 14th month of no WDW. The longest stretch by far in the last 22 years. ( and a number of those years we also had a DL trip )----

I still have not planned my next trip and just rolled my DVC points to the next use year.

too many others things draining my budget right now

My party actually left the Magic Kingdom at 3 pm as the crowds were too large. I have practically vowed never to come to WDW again in any month other than January and I have only been here for 24 hours. I am so tired of strollers, lazy people on scooters and screaming children. Get real, you don't drag a two year old out to Downtown Disney at 1 am, duh!

As for internet service. I'm staying at the Best Western and I'm picking up no less that 18 wireless networks. For some reason ( and I have no idea why ), my laptop wants to stay connected on the Regal Sun's wireless network despite the fact that that hotel is a quarter of a mile away. What the heck is the Regal Sun using to power their wireless network a nuclear power plant? And, its more reliable that the wireless network I'm connected to at my hotel.

Anyway, I'm really tired after spending probably 8 hours at the Magic Kingdom, my party probably only were able to get on 5 attractions. The lines are crazy and this is off season. My party is attending Mickey's No So Scary monday night so I'm hoping to get on a few rides/ attractions then. You should have seen the line for the Haunted Mansion, it streched all the way into Fronterland.

And I have one question, do you think Walt Disney ever envisioned a party as congested with strollers as the Magic Kingdom has become?

I doubt it. Back then people didn't cater to their children as much as they do now, and children weren't as sedentary as they are now. Back when Walt was around, there wouldn't be as much whining about all the walking and, if there was whining, the parents probably would've said get over it or we're going back to the hotel. Now a kid will whine if he has to walk half a block, and his/her overindulgent parents will run to get their precious little 10 year old a stroller instead of doing the right thing and leaving.

There are No Stroller Parking signs everwhere in Fantacyland now. And the old Fantacyland skyway area is now a sea of blue strollers. Its really gotten out of hand.

WHAT!!!! We went to DLP last weekend with our 3 and 5 year olds and did not take the strollers (though we wish we had when we had to transport 2 sleeping kids and luggage through St Pancras International going home).

We did get some of the loaners on day 2 because we knew we were going to have a very long day. But the kids are 3 and 5. What I have witnessed at DL and even more at WDW is unbelievable.

Its gotten to the point that unless you can take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours or a special event MNSSHP your chances of touring the Magic Kingdom are nill. We plan on avoiding the MK the rest of our 8 day trip.

We did make our way over to Epcot last night ( since the MK is closing at 6pm each day now ). Epcot is great, still my favorite park and with the stollers taking over the MK, probably the only park I visit now at WDW. Maybe I will take pictures of the fields of strollers for ya'll so you can see what I'm talking about. Its pretty bad when Fantacyland is covered with No Stroller Parking signs. Unfortunately, where ever you see a No Stroller Parking sign, that typically where the scooters are parked.

Isn't this the "free dining plan" period? My sister is there now as well, and the only reason they went now was the free dining plan.

It's also a federal holiday -- 3-day weekend for Columbus Day that is generally not observed in the private sector. Federal government employees are generally not impacted by hard times. Uncle Sam is not in the business of layoffs or paycuts -- at least not yet. I suspect if you did a demographic survey, you might find a disproportionate number of federal employees during the Columbus Day holiday than other parts of the year when the rest of the country has a holiday, too.

We were there 10 nights and it only cost me $1 total. Disney obviously saw a gold mine in strollers. What's the rate now?
In those days, there was no hotel delivery of purchases, so the stroller was a great place to put the bags.

Also wanted to let you know about a rare photo opp near the teacups at 7:30 and 8:45. Snow White and the 7Dwarfs together but no PhotPass Cast. I also want to tell you about a unique PhotoPass in front of the HM/ghost horse/Hearst. If you have your photo taken, when you pay for it the "Ghost Driver" is inserted. During the party WDW offers a 40% discount night of the event only.Anyway I hope you have fun and if you have any more ?s I will check back.I should probably post a trip report....
