Actually last Christmas while we were in LA one of Barry's clients wives, offered to take me shopping in LA which was so lovely of her. When we got back to the boys, she told them she had a great day and it was so exciting shopping with me, cause I'm quick, know what I like and can find Fab bargains wherever we went! LOL We are going to do it again this year as we are now firm friends and I can't wait!

We also went to K-Mart where I didn't get much but a few teethers for Jake and some PJs two for one. It wasn't so bad out there, it was fun!

I did manage to get all the things I had circled in the ad, like the Desperate Housewives PC game for $4.99 and a few movies and the Uno gameboy game. The checkout line was 75 minutes long! I haven't waited in a line that long since Splash Mountain opened. And to make matters worse, my hubby was warm and home sleeping! He should have been suffering with me!!

The challenge was to see how many free things, (stocking stuffers, I was on a budget!), I could get and the best bargins I could find. It was so much fun to be among the holiday crowd and fellow shoppers who were crazy enough to tough the crowds. It has really changed from when I first started my Black Friday tradition. Not as much fun or free stuff and people are grouchier. The night before at my sister’s house, with all the family there and after we pick names DH and I scatter the ads on the floor then make up our list of items, places we need to shop, & clip coupons. Everyone usually joins us going through the ads, and we sit back, listen to what people want and write it down. People are always surprised on Christmas getting something they wanted when they thought no one heard. We usually have our nephews/nieces circle 3 - 5 items and then pick out one toy for toys for tots. I worked again this year and my relief was 1/2 hour late so we got a late start. I was not happy. I hate it when co-workers are inconsiderate. Grrrr, any how that's another topic. Instead of waiting for me to get off of work, DH headed to Target and got the 3.98 and 5.98 DVD's I put on my wish list March of the penguins 40 y.o Virgin Wedding Crashers Polar Express He also picked up Barry Manilow's hits of the 60's $9.98 yay! 2 wireless game controllers for $19.98 for the older nephew. DH picked me up and we headed over to Cost Plus for the free Ghiradelli dark chocolate candy bar and chance to win $10,000 prize. Didn't win but got a good candy bar - Chocolate mint! :9 We picked up 4 advent calendars for $1.49 ea. sweeeet ornaments were buy 1 get one free. We headed to the mall to get our yearly free Disney snow globe from JC Penney, praying that there were still some left. They were gone, nasty word co-worker. I have gotten one each year since they began giving them out. I was really bummed. DH got me another wish list item. A picture frame jewelry box. The front is a collage picture frame that opens to reveal hooks and such to hang necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings, originally $98 he got it for $46.88! I can't wait for Christmas! I was slowly getting unbummed. We headed to Toys R Us, DH lets me blare the IL DIVO Christmas CD. What snow globe? We got DVD's for of my nephew's Monster House 7.99 Doogal? 4.99 Little Mermaid 12.99 for my niece 2 baby dolls 6.99 ea toys for tots 1 Home Depot tool kit 6.99 toys for tots 2 medical kits 4.99 ea 1 for the donation bin 1 for toys for tots Sit and Spin w/ lights and music 9.99 for my other niece. Teen Trends Kianna doll for my niece Kianna 14.99 Ben 10 stuff for my nephew. By this time I was tired from working all night so we headed home. I would have liked to have gone to the new Kohl’s but maybe tomorrow. When I got up we went back to JC Penney and got some curtains buy one get one for $1 Plus we had a $15 off coupon for $75 purchase. We didn’t get everything we listed but we got most of the things and at a good price! We just might stick to our budget this year. LOLOLOL!

I did get all but two of the items on my list, and I got rainchecks for them, so I ended up doing all right. I think the best bargain I got was today when I used two $10 off Fashion Bug coupons and got two long sleeved holiday tees for 99c each! On our local news last night they were referring to black Friday as "Black and Blue" Friday b/c of all of the fights breaking out at the dept. stores in Philly. (I was glad I slept in after seeing that!)

Hopefully, I'll be motivated to do that tomorrow! We ate lunch at Red Robin then headed to Molbak's in Woodinville, WA. I collect snowflakes and found a few neat designs. I also bought a Hello Kitty ornament for the girl. At each store they were giving out big samples of a danish pastry made by a bakery in Ballard and coffee. It was VERY tasty. Both stores were pretty busy, the busiest was Wight's. It was still pretty relaxing. I didn't buy any Xmas gifts, though. Today I ran to Michael's and Joann's and was able to get almost everything I need for my Xmas gift projects. I didn't get to work on any of them because I guilted my husband into bringing some of our xmas boxes home from storage. I have 8 totes in my living room, 2 are almost as big as bathtubs. I don't want to use some of my old stuff this time around and we've got less furniture surfaces to decorate this year. I'm having to be really creative. ;-)

Luckily they had all but two of the registers open (inlcuding 3 express lanes), which made it really easy to get out of there as there weren't any lines. The parking lot was full, and certain areas of the store were packed, but apparently Black Friday isn't a popular day to buy Christmas decorations. Not that I'm complaining or anything...
