It's why Destination D was so ironic and yet probably 98% of those there missed the point. The D23 event was a showcase of WDW's history and most of what was shown, especially for the first 25 years of the resort showed a much higher caliber, higher quality ... classier product. All it takes is looking at vacation planning materials from 1971, 1981, 1991, 2001 and the present to see that WDW was Walmarted starting in the late 90s and things have steadily gone in the direction of the cheap, the homogenized, and the lazy. <<Instead of expanding resort-wise with new technology, attractions, we instead find ourselves stuck with very few new attractions, and more of a collection of attractions either poorly taken care of or stuck in their 1990s overlay. >> You've noticed? <<So, how can fandbois not help but be happy when something returns to as it was in it's prime......but the problem is what was in it's prime in 1971 is now passive and boring in 2011.>. It's very simple. You don't move forward by going back. The only thing WDW should be looking to its past for is the standards and quality that made it The Vacation Kingdom of the World (a place that needed no national ad campaigns in real media, let alone internet bloggers/podcasters/photographers and general whores to sell it to the world). <<Up the street they have,,,,harry potter, and further up they have new and exciting rolleroasters, and new engaging experiences.>> Yes. But they don't have MAGIC and pixie dust ... although Young Harry has big wand! <<I personally would have liked to have seen a new polynesian type show...or really...get rid of the tiki room all together.>> Agreed. <<It works at Disneyland, but I fear it will become as it was in 1997 in WDW,,,,a sleeper attraction It will become adventureland's carousel of progress...not because the tiki room or carousel of progress are inherently boring, but because TDO and WDI can not agree on preserving the integrity of the attractions and moving forward.>> Well said.

It seems like no matter what they do in DL now, it will either have unneeded character additions to existing attractions (small world and Pirates) or simply be a revival of an old attraction. Given that the rumor mill continues to churn for how to make Tomorrowland be more like it's pre-98 setup, but I doubt that trend will stop any time soon. Good to see that both coasts are getting to share the joy now. : />> I think TDO has simply spread the TDA push for the past pixie dust to our coast ... thing is, though, DL is still a masterpiece compared to our Ghetto Kingdom to start with including a relatively new pyro show and a brand new daytime parade (MK's last was in 2001). And you also have DCA getting massive capital and new things ... plus improvements at DD and even the DLH. I guess what I am saying is that it rings much more hollow in O-Town where the consistently try to destroy all that was created from 1971-1996 ...

Just don't install the snowman from Monsters Inc. in there. If Disney is not willing to rip out the Tiki Room and replace it completely, I'd prefer the original over some lame altered version to cash in with a movie tie-in.

It appears that society is responding to it though, and attempts are being made to eliminate it while driving, and in public areas where it can be a distraction to others.

You had to tune them up every 10 to 15 thousand miles, Points, plugs condensers, reset the timing using a timing light. Automatic chokes failed all the time, if spark plug wires got wet the car would skip, tires were only good for, at tops, 20000 miles and they blew out regularly. A trip from Vermont to places like Florida were only to be attempted if the car had very low mileage and even then it was iffy that it would make it without at least one breakdown. Distributor caps cracked, solenoid switches failed. It was a real adventure. I don't want those times back. << That's the truth. The only good thing about the older cars was their uniqueness of design.

I don't think they've had the time to develop a totally new show, but maybe they'll combine elements of WDW's and DL's versions? It'll be interesting to see what finally goes in there.

And it wholly trends to the fact that they shortened the show in Disneyland and they'll do the same here.

I just wanted to head off those who are freaking out (for good or bad) that the original show is coming back, when we don't really know exactly what is going in. And my apologies to my friend MPierce. I didn't see your comment - so sorry!
