Another something that once was thought of as a boon to business is e-mail. Come to find out, days are wasted responding to and reading endless quantities of them. Nothing gets done. I have seen times when 20 e's were exchanged over a course of hours that could have been handled with a two minute phone call or office visit. All that glitters is not gold. Texting can be fun when usage is limited, but the total absorption that I have seen is unhealthy, IMHO.

Like if you were tied up in the trunk of a car and could only hold your phone behind you back, texting would be helpful. But everywhere you go you see people texting while having lunch with a friend, while at work, etc. Crazy, man.

I also love it in parks when it's hard to hear the phone, but we check for texts intermittently when separated. "Where are we meeting?" "I'm done with Buzz, where R U?" I don't run my entire live via text message, but after avoiding it for years I find I love it now.

'73 Irwindale Raceway drag T-shirt, a funny one I picked up in Jackson Hole Wyoming, the Ts from the only trip to Hawaii I took with my husband, Hands Across America, that sort of thing. But they all sit in storage and I don't "need the whole set".
