I find it questionable as to why they would even consider doing this after just mediocre returns (not to mention, reviews) at the box office. Bad idea, Disney! As for Johnny Depp in PoTC, well, that I do think will be fun, if done correctly. I can't wait to see the new version when it opens, since that movie was one of my all time favorite action films!!! Just don't change the ride THAT much! (By the way, Disney's press release for the POTC makeovers said that it will incorporate some of the film's music, but, that the main song "Yo, Ho!" would remain.)

There will be a nod to the movie added to the ride but its more of a vague homage that only really hardcore people will get. It has to do with a charecter that was made up for the movie's backstory but does not actually appear in the film.

Your call, as we each have our own tastes - to me since they are not doing any major alterations to the ride - I have no issues with it.
