Yes that is right. Meeko takes the Southern Pacific narrow gauge steam railroad that ran from Durango, Colorado to Silverton, Colorado and then jumped over the Rockies and landed in the square middle of Joshua Tree National Park in Queen Valley as depicted in the film, Golden Dreams.

As they scramble to make the park, guest friendly, the California Theme fades silently into the darkness.

    "Badee-badee-badee, That's it folks!"

I am also glad to hear that they are going to make the Bugs rides for everyone, just how it should be.
Now on the much debated issue on Meeko, why don't they just put this show over on Tom Sawyer? Granted Tom Sawyer is in Frontierland, but the overall Island seems to be kind of Southern to me, especially with New Orleans across the way. It could be a nice addition I think. Also it could tie in with the already prevalent Indian theme around the river. just my two cents.
Oh for the person that asked I believe the ampitheater talked about is the one created in Frontierland. It is not very big, but very nice. It can be found in the plaza of Frontierland across from Big Thunder Mountain and the Mexican resteraunt.

And, Fab.... thanks for calling Lesley & me a "contingent" (heh) from the DIS... though I consider myself a part of Laughingplace, too. ;)

Thank you for the write-up, and I can see a future columnist in Miss Alice, who was good in her own right in asking a question of the imagineers.

.... oh, and as for the AA Meeko. I can understand how some would want the park to stay true to only California things, but there are a LOT of people who enjoy seeing "Disney" characters when they go to a Disney park, and I think that introducing Pocahontas and Meeko to that amphitheater is a great idea. The idea is to entertain the guest, and I think a lot of guests will be entertained by seeing these characters there.

I agree that it would be a more easily acceptable stretch to put Pocahontas on TSI. The canoe boats could use a little rehab, rename them Pocahontas' Canoes, and you now have a recurring theme along with a show. Heck, if you're going to rehab TSI, how hard could it be to add a small theatre like in Frontierland or AC?
At least New Orleans is closer to VA than CA. ;)
