That's not the reasoning for it at all.

It's "We're building a new ride, and it's cheaper to just put the characters here than making a new building."

For me it's just a matter of passion. What others get all excited about may not be for me, but it isn't necessary to treat them badly. (Secretly feeling they're pretty weird is just fine, though.)

Exactly!! In fact, they could have used some of the area in the new circus area for it. I certainly wouldn't have cared if they replaced the Tinkerbell stuff with a Princess meet-and-greet. I wasn't interested in Pixie-land, or whatever they were calling it, I'm not interested in The Circus, and I don't care for Meet-and-Greets - so I would have been perfectly fine with using that space for that.

As for SWSA - I'm also cool with them shutting it down - they just should have replaced it with another ride instead.

Holy cow. This conversation has just become an endless repetition.

    They are...the Mine Train.

Hokie, are you the only other voice of reason in this discussion?

Even if SWSA is hokey when it's there, there's a greater chance of it becoming a different dark ride. Once it's M&G it'll probably stay M&G it's not like they don't have space for it.

Besides there are guests that also like rides, M&G is actually a poor return for the park guest. Also Princesses appeal to just the younger girls mainly. Whereas SWSA is family oriented.

If we're talking about cheesy as well, maybe they should remove the value resorts? Or at least you know upgrade them to 3 star hotel material. Maybe things like oh say indoor hallways, more storage (considering the amount of families and teams that use them)

Sure. I'm not denying that. But, I'm also not going to complain about the new FLE plans when comparing them to the old ones.

I'll take the new over what was originally announced any day of the week.

Maybe the new ride will make the old one look...old? And obsolete? I'm just guessing, here. But if MK had kept SWSA and the Mine Train, people would have complained, "Two rides for the same movie? That's overkill! Why not build a ride for _(their favorite movie without a ride)_ instead?!"

And furthermore, if the new ride is as good as it is supposed to be, as soon as it opened, fanbois would start saying, "Oh God, the new ride makes the old SWSA look like an outdated piece of garbage. How long until they can close down that embarrassment to Fantasyland?!"

No, I am not 5, far from it. But I do try to access my Inner Child when I visit the parks. I am not ashamed to admit that I have an Inner Child and a Sensitive side, even though many people (especially males) are apparently too "cool" or "hip" to admit this.

I consider it a Blessing that I can feel this stuff so deeply and earnestly, especially after going through something like "Katrina" which could turn even the gentlest, most beautiful souls into bitter, jaded, and hardened ones. I can't stress how relieved I was to eventually feel all of that wash away from my consciousness, and have the Magical, unjaded, innocence of the "pixie dust" start to come back. Truly a Blessing.

And yes, I cry during Wishes. Almost Every Single Time. At minimum, goosebumps. And I am extremely PROUD of this!

For me, they're really not all that different. The new Mine Train ride doesn't really hold all that much appeal to me. Sure, it's better than a few meet-and-greet - which I never would have done, but really not all that exciting. I personally would have preferred some new dark rides.

    No crap.

<<M&G is actually a poor return for the park guest.>>

    Explain.

<<Also Princesses appeal to just the younger girls mainly.>>

Key word is mainly. And even then, they are popular enough to require a permanent indoor meeting place. I don't like it, and there's no way in hell I'm gonna wait in that line till I have kids, but it's a fact. A fact that too many Disney fans try to forget.

    <<Whereas SWSA is family oriented.>>

Is it? I certainly never wanted to go on it when I was a kid. Neither did my dad. Heck my mom wasn't even a big fan of it.

And it was still pretty scary, even after the change.

There's a reason it's closing: It was unpopular compared to the other attractions in Fantasyland.

<<Or at least you know upgrade them to 3 star hotel material. Maybe things like oh say indoor hallways, more storage >>

If only they would do that!

Nothing "religious" or "weird" about it. I don't "worship" WDW or the characters like a religion or anything. I'm just a highly sensitive person, and feel things very deeply, that's all. It is very easy for me to empathize when I watch movies and such, and feel the same emotions the protagonists feel. So I like Happy Endings. Feeling Warm and Fuzzy over a Happy Ending is not the same thing as a "religion", and I would suspect that the only people who could find this "weird" are perhaps people out of touch with their own emotions and sensitive side.

No one has ignored this - they just suggested building it somewhere else. I don't care if it costs Disney more money - I'm pretty sure they can afford it.

    *facepalms*

And I agree with you. Everyone agrees with that.

But Disney isn't gonna do it. They're not gonna spend the money when they don't have to.

And as I've said, I'm gonna take the second announced version of the FLE over the first any day. It actually has something to get excited about.

David, you gotta cool down, man. Mickey and Bob are gonna pixiegasm if you keep this up. We got it. You're sentimental. More power to ya.

And your point? Are we not allowed to complain just because they won't do it?

<<And as I've said, I'm gonna take the second announced version of the FLE over the first any day.>>

And as I said - they're both about equal for me, and none of them lives up to the potential of what WDI is actually capable of.

Complain all you want. But pick your battles, too.

As Hokie said, the second version of FLE at least has two new rides instead of one. And it leaves more room for future expansion.
