If we would had done Disney's Aulani it would have cost $5000.00 just for the room. It is a nice place I got to admit. But no trip is worth that kind of money. For that I better get free meals and a butler.

In fact for the first time EVER, I am even thinking of selling my DVC points. I can stay at a nice condo resort near Universal Orlando for a week for far less than I pay in annual maintenance costs for DVC.

Great thing of it was there were kids there but they well behave. Not like a some children at Disney where they are wore out and screaming and their parents just won out the same. It was one of the best things I ever did. I have done Disney 10 times in 25 yrs. Most of those were from 1982 to 1992. I just got bored or just trying to do so much I was tired from the experience . Next time we do go and we are lucky it is just a 90 min drive from Saint Petersburg Florida to there. But we will be staying at the Marriott or at the Waldof Astoria right next door. and we will get great rates there as feel. Plan on going to Sea World and Universal and NASA. We havent been to Disney or Universal in at least 5 yrs now . Looks like Universal is upping the bar on what they offer. They have added more and looks to be adding more before we go. Funny thing is We moved to Florida due to his works and I wanted to live in Orlando. But he showed me Saint Pete and Im glad I stayed here. After seeing what it is like in Orlando . I agree. It's a tough place to live never less visiting there. Poor international guest must feel very afraid to visit.

That's ridiculous.<< I've only been to the world once, in 2003. And what really stood out to me was how gross the restrooms were.

Originally Posted By fkurucz >>Wait, falling debris?! WTH???!!! Are they crazy letting this go on?<< It's called being "cost effective". There are shareholders that need maximizing on their returns, you know. Not a good or healthy profit, but a MAXIMIZED profit. And that means "fixing" things in the cheapest way possible.
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>I'm sorry, but I would notice those nasty seats in Carousel of Progress.<< I noticed the seats were like that when I visited COP in January. I smacked the seatbottom cushion, and a huge cloud of dust came flying out. Given how worn out and dusty everything was, we assumed that they were the attraction's original upholstery (perhaps dating all the way back to the 1964 World's Fair). It was gross, and amazed me that everybody complained about the more-or-less okay AA's, but didn't seem to notice the terrible condition of the seats. Maybe it's better in some theaters. >>I remembering noticing during my first visits how amazingly clean all the restrooms were. Every single one of the bathrooms smelled like it belonged in a dive bar, and the floors were all wet. It was like they were in the middle of mopping or something, but custorial was nowhere to be seen. Every restroom I visited in both parks over 2 days was like that. Maybe it's just a European thing...

For the greater part of the calendar year, that attraction is shut down. There is ample time available to clean offending scuff marks, and stains. If WDW parks management were intrested in doing that. My quess is that saddly, it is not a priority. In the eyes of WDW management team, CoP is not one the WDW's darling attrations.

We usually go to WDW during early October, a relatively slow time or during mid-January, probably the slowest time of the year. I can't even remember the last time we found CoP to be out of operation.

On the other hand I've never personally seen it... likely because it has been at least 5 years since I bothered with Maelstrom. I find it a deadly bore.
