There are some very strange people who post here. That's all I have to say.

I've always liked how the outdoor track was a thin piece of concrete connected to simple steel columns. It had a certain mid-century charm about it that modern construction can't create any more (for a variety of reasons). It looks like the fixes will essentially add an entirely new structure with steel beams below the existing concrete, to support the widened load. It's not the end of the world, but it will be the loss of something charming I also worry that the wider path won't retain the feeling that your car could possibly drive over the edge, especially if the guardrails are permanently up (Side note: I really hate how the guardrail along the Screamin' launch has been up since all this began. It's retractable; why does it need to be up all day?)

They also took advantage of the downtime to place structural steel beneath the track in certain areas, and have drilled holes for rebar to fit into the existing track to make it that much more safe in the event of an earthquake.
