I prefer it to TDR because I think the story is much better with Salah than the "who the heck is Paco?" felow, even if Tokyo's has better effects. I also prefer the queue, as it feels more like an archaeological dig site than a TDS' Hollywood spectacle. Lastly, I really loved the old EPCOT AA rides WoM and Horizons. They just embodied Walt's spirit of optimism for the future. I suppose I should mention the CoP and the American Adventure too while I am at it. Nothing is more Disney than AA's!

The sword fighting scene was ON! but the swinging pirate didn't swing and some other effects were inop, like the floating kitty on the box.
Originally Posted By TDR_Fan <<I'd say the Paris version of PotC, assuming everything is clean and working>> I do love that ride, it's my favorite of the Pirate of the Caribbeans. However...I like my attractions with a bit of a thrill level while still maintaining the detailed sets, hence why Journey to the Center of the Earth is my favorite attraction.

I mean, think about it Leemac, isn't Raging Spirits basically next door? That's the longest cue in the park... and even though the wait is because of capacity issues, it's still amazing that folks will wait 2 hours to ride a minute long coaster. Sinbad is a VERY high capacity attraction, and never needed that outdoor section of cue. I'd like to know the real numbers on this attraction, because even in dead times, I've never visited DisneySea and seen boats empty. (Walk-on, sure... but not empty... which means it's more or less hitting capacity..) And yes, Sinbad is a wonderful attraction. But as much as I liked it, I do think it needs a song (which they're adding.... I hope it's GOOD!) and that it needed a slight thrill element to make it outstanding. Right now the ride seems (when compared to other attractions at DisneySea) to be like Epcot's Living With The Land (pre-Soarin' surprise fastpass era) or Rio Del Tempo attractions . It's MUCH better then either of these attractions of course, but bare with me a sec: when you have a park like DisneySea with just overwhelming eye candy and amazing things to do and see, it makes the park's attractions with less of a gimmick seem like less of a draw, even if they're phenomanal works. For instance, even though on a visit to Epcot on vacation you're likely visit Living With The Land or Rio Del Tempo, when you compare it to Test Track or (at least in my opinion) Spaceship Earth, it just doesn't register in the same leauge. Build a park like DisneySea with so many things to do, and you have tough internal competition.

I think that this is absoutely the most underrated Disney attraction anywhere in the world. It's family friendly, interactive, themed to perfection, trancends all launguages, and endlessly re-rideable. It's a joy. I've mentioned this before, but I've been to DisneySea twice, and each time Journey has been closed! The first time it was just down randomally during the day, and I missed it each time (this was close to opening for the park) and the second time it was a scheduled closure (but was the only time I had to visit). This makes my upcoming trip (in two weeks) especially exciting because not only am I thrilled to ride the new Tower of Terror, but it will be my very first time on Journey to the Center of the Earth... so for me, it's like two new etickets!

You can not compare a silly free fall experience that lasts seconds over an immersive attraction like JTTCOTE. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

I believe the bigger madhouse will be on Sept 20th when they give away the a free Halloween present to all guests. I hope to be there in that day.
