As TDL-Fan would say, you have to consider the whole. Think of the history behind the Eiffel Tower, not just it's physical makeup.

You are now introducing something that is ENTIRELY different than what I have been talking about. As for something to gaze, marvel or stare at I will take the volcano any day over looking at the Golden Gate or the palace of Versailles. As for the the Golden Gate Bridge I have seen it countless times since I grew up in Sausalito and I would drive over it, walk on it and bike ride it to SF.

I was attempting to explain why people feel the way they do about it; it's not just about physical or outward beauty. Your love for Mt. Prometheus is proof of that. You love it because you love theme parks, Disney, etc. I don't want to sound like I have a laissez faire attitude about Disney parks. I didn't attend the grand openings of both DLP and TDS because I have a mere passing interest in Disney. They are phenomenal places of entertainment and fantasy. But even Disneyland is only 51 years old. It doesn't have quite the same historical significance or wonder of many of these other things... yet.

That would have been cool. Still a very cool effect... I did stop and stare at it many times. I especially remember seeing it at night. Beautiful! In fact, I have a pic of it and the Fortress at night that I always send to people to show how amazing that park is.

At least there is a fake lava flow in JttCotE....

I like how they made it one foot shorter than the required height for a flashing light for airplanes. This means, that if it was one foot taller, it could be a potential hazard to planes flying overhead. Yet, these planes that are flying at a fairly low altitude are supposed to be able to sustain flying through some fire? I know it hasn't happened yet, and probably never will, but I just think it is a strange dilemma for a building to have.
