Spectromagic is okay, but it still pales in comparison to the MSEP.

I don't know if this is true, but the interpretation is hilarious. DCA is dead, long live the Disneyland Resort!!!

I'm glad DCA is finally getting the crowds. DCA may be the success they are seeking. Now, if only they will extend the parade schedule a few weeks beyond Labor Day weekend. I wonder what their plans are in the fall when the ticket discount and parade are discontined? Unless they have a contingency plan, the crowds will be sparse.

Maybe not. If the parade brings out large numbers of people who have never been and they spread the word that DCA isn't all that bad then perhaps attendance will start looking more like the original plan.

I wonder if Disney is planning some sort of permanent nightime parade or show for DCA to replace the DEP?

That's assuming, of course, that the word they're spreading is "good". Disney had better do their best to make sure that everyone is having a really good time - or else they could be in for a very long winter.

Now, if Disney has been getting really bad reactions, then this would not be a particularly clever move on their part. But if they have been getting good reactions, and I hear mainly good reactions, and see mainly good trip reports from people, then it is a very good move, as it does an end run around the people who seem determined to do their best to make the place fail.

I really have a hard time imagining them putting in a discount like this with the knowledge that most of the people in the park are going to go out and trash the name of the place. That makes no sense.

To me anyway, it doesn't flow with the theme at all and is kind of like a twist "Sixth Sense" ending to your day. It was nice to see the parade being performed again, but to me anyway it deserves to be let go. Sure people still enjoy it, but I imagine a new DEP type parade would create a huge response. The music sadly is the most dated element feeling the most out of place in DCA. Especially when you go from the rich soundtracks in the San Francisco area to the moog sythesizer (very wierd feeling). Don't get me wrong, I love the soundtrack of the DEP, but it doesn't need to be played anymore. I'm sure Don Dorsey could come up with a brilliant new score that would have everyone rushing to buy the CDs. The beginning and ending announcements sound a little lacking with the fewer words to say (going from Main Street Electrical Parade to simply Disney's Electrical Parade). The design of the parade route is very open and does lend to the parade feeling very small at times and not as cozy as at Disneyland. Maybe it's just because it's been 5 years since I've seen it and I grew that much :). Also, the lack of curb puts you at a slighty lower angle on the floats than was intended (not to mention hurts your legs and feet more). Seeing the parade with Paradise Pier lights turned out to be much less exciting as it didn't really add much to me anyway. It also seemed odd to me how long the music went at the end, didn't remember it lasting that long before. There are some changes that I'm not sure are really changes but seemed different to me:

Blue Fairy now sparkles blue (used to sparkle white)
    Goofy's costume is different
    Smee's ship is different
No Pinocchio or Snow White floats
American float looked different as well (can't put my finger on it though, maybe the different angle).

I'm not so sure that's the case. Maybe they already had the shirts designed with "Disneyland Resort" for when they were planning to re-introduce the Parade back to DL in the next couple years.

Whether or not you believe her tone and message to be sincere is up to you.
