I was suprised that "James Baskett" wasn't mentioned... For his work in "Song Of The South" as "Uncle Remus" & "Brer Fox" & also filled in for "Johnny Lee"(Brer Rabbit) when he was called away for USO tour...The part he did was the "Laughing Place" sequence... Also he notably Won an Academy Award in 1948 for his acting of "Uncle Remus"... He originally answered an ad in 1945 for the "talking butterfly" part & was called back by Walt after hearing & reviewing his voice... Walt met him & said "he's my man" (for the Uncle Remus part)...He was also Walt's favorite actor that he worked with...

"Song Of The South" is very often overlooked since Disney has kept it a low profile film (due to Racial issues). It has had five releases in theatres (last one in 1986).
But still has yet to be released on video in the U.S. It has been released in the U.K. on video & on laserdisc in Japan... Except that the U.K. version has some scenes missing while the Japanese version shows the whole movie... (look on E-Bay at the Laserdisc going for at least $200.00)

As you can tell "James Baskett" is one of my favorites...

    First, how abiut:
ROBIE LESTER-Disney narrator, storyteller, more voices on Disneyland rcords thn anyone?

SAM EDWARS-worked alongisde the great paul Winchell----in a parellel (!) career on the abovementioned records, Sam did Tigger when Paul wasn't avaible (IMO unlike Jim Cummings, the other two were raido veterans and Paul Winchell pereferred bigger bucks and satill did the bouncy tiger for Disney theatrical and other projects.).Sam Edwards did a #of DIsneyland park attractions

CANDY CANDIDO-the "Mighty Low" Jimmy Durante (too bad the "Schnozz" never,to my knwoledge did Disney voices, despite his renown and his Rankin-Bass 1969 narrator role in the classic orginal FROSTY speail on television) costar, heard in SLEEPING BEUATY (1959) as the GOONS diud a WIDE variety of low noises and was one o0f Thurl Ravenscroft's rivals for bass voices.

MARVIN MILLER-narrated the LP and feature of SLEEPING BEAUTY,heard in I belive, many Disney shorts and in UPA shorts and Dr.Suess and raido voices.

    All dead now--LSTER,2005, EDWARDS,2004,CANDIDO,1997,and MILLER,1985,.

If some WERE included (too many featured there to lok at in one sitting without batting an eyelash),please let me know.

    The Park announcers have been
DICK WESSON (not to be confused with DICK WESSEL who appeaered with the Three Stooges for Columbia Pictures and in the '66 UGLY DACHSUND for Disney posthumously), JACK WAGNER (likewise not to be confused with the like-named MUCH younger soap star on GENERAL HOSPITAL), and a few others. Mr.Wagner's been mentioned....

Anyway, glad to be on board.:)
