I just chuckled at the fact that someone still uses the term "good gravy." LOL

I get teased about them all the time and I don't know where they came from, except that I was babysat by my grandpa for a long, long time as a child.

Take the recent Shaggy Dog for example. IT was obvious that the people in charge of the movie did not truely care for th original movie.

The Shaggy Dog is one of the top 5 movies I want to Write for Disney, because It is a movie I love and respect with all my heart.

If you get someone who loves the material, you are one step there. IT is obvious to me that the people who wrote this TRON script love the movie, anf This makes me very hopeful.

Honestly, the original Tron was a horrible movie. Horrible script. Horrible acting. Cheesy special effects. It would be hard to do worse than the original here.

The first featured POV footage shot from various vehicles like an airplane, race car, speed boat, etc. The second featured a swirling red cloud that looked suspiciously like stock footage from "The Black Hole", while the third Speedroom featured the computer animated footage from Tron as Flynn was being pulled into the computer world. This last Speedroom was really cool and seemed to be the most effective. Not because it was necessarily from Tron, but it was being projected on such a massive curved screen. Very cool!

You gotta be kidding. How old are ya, kid? ;-)

For 1982 the special effects were magnificent. They were really the only thing the movie had going for it. They're why elderly geeks still geek out over it, and why they got sufficient support for making a big-budget sequel to a 27-year-old box-office turkey.

As for the script and acting, yeah, it was definitely lacking somewhat there. Probably why the movie failed at the box-office. But the look and feel to the film is what made it have such a cult follwing. Count me in as one of the few who liked it for what it was! Now, it's 'nostalgic', but back then, it was 'state-of-the-art'.
