If it were to just state that I don't have an opinion directly on what you said, I wouldn't have wasted your time or mine in posting such, unless for some reason someone asked me directly. But you did bring up a subject, and even though I have no direct opinion, I wanted to continue the conversation by: a) mentioning that I've heard several others say the same thing, b) mention that a new slang word has even been coined to describe the phenomenon, c) give a link to an entire website that someone went to the trouble to set up to discuss the issue, and d) mention a related issue that I did have an opinion on. I think that adds plenty to the discussion, and I don't know what your problem is.

Well, that would be "loser" and I prefer "Disney webgrump", if you're going to be referring specifically to me. As for the thinking part, I don't think you are at all here.

What was I thinking??? Im outta here. *** Same here the respect around here is appalling. You can't state any kind of opinion without it turning into some kind of confrontation. Reason why its time for me to devote more time to friendlier boards. I have a great deal of respect for several people on here like Davewasbaloo and leemac and will pop back to read what these people have to say. But my regular contributions are finished on here.

You are easily the only person on the face of this earth who fails to see how laughable the above truly is.

As like many things these days it probably all comes down to issues of legal liability and responsible duty of care. If something worse were to happen and the foreign workers/personnel were killed or poisoned with radiation they could probably sue their employers or the US government for BILLIONS. Those companies or departments were most likely ordered by their legal advisors that they had no choice but to get all their people out. Like many things in the world today, it ALL comes down to money.

As for my own personal experiences, most of my Japanese friends and colleagues seem rather surprised that I stayed (I have my own personal reasons for that choice), and thankful, but also quipping that they'd bail out too if they had a choice lol.

It must make me cowardly to look after my own well-being. I'm supposed to be back there next week and I must admit that I've still got trepidation about it. I really don't want to go.
