Me too. I never want to be proved right on this one. The world needs a TDR that is at the top of its game like it used to be. I just don't think OLC has be able to handle growing to an organisation that has 2 parks, a failing mall complex and a raft of strange hotels. The latter two definitely lack the Disney touch. They were offered a DtD concept but refused to pay for it. I bet they wish they had now. They are stuck with an unpopular mall that is badly configured and they are having to prop it up by paying a truckload of cash to Cirque du Soleil and Disney for La Nouba.

TDLFAN beat me to it, but it seems to me you can't have it both ways. TDL is by all accounts a wildly successful park, and yet they have TONS of special events. Is that because the park itself couldn't have attracted "enough" guests all those years. I doubt it.

And yet when TDS follows that same general formula, suddenly the park itself is not "good" enough to attract people.

    I don't buy that argument.

I can attest to that since I have been going there for the longest time I guess... First time I stepped foot on TDL.. not only was I blown away by the insanely sanitized conditions, but also by the crowds... 'Star Tours' had just opened and the lines for that used to block off the entire outdoor area between the ride and the Pan Galactic Pizza Place.. They were also in the midts of their "Mickey's Space Fantasy" special event.. It was the first time I ever saw actual chairs set up in front of the castle for a particular show. I was blonw away and came back that evening thinking to myself... "why o why are things not done like this at the MK???" Point is... my expectations for WDW were immediately raised after such a succesful first day at TDL.

16 yrs after my very first visit to TDL, there is nothing you can tell me that will make me change my mind on this: TDR may not be at the top of the game but it sure runs the most consistently solid operation with the most bang for your dollar and the operation that most proudly offer the experience that Walt intended for his park in Anaheim (still a great park on it's own as well).. "It takes People.." and "My park will be clean.."
TDR is still the master of that philosophy. Only my opinion of course.

Thank you SuperDry :). YOU got it at least ;).

The point is that by saying "Well at least TDS is better than all the other non-MKs" you don't answer the question in the thread. The problem with TDS has nothing whatsoever to do with any other park.

Man, this stuff happens ALL the time here.

It just amazes me we are over 100 posts and there isn't wild disagreements over what is being discussed, is it? No one is saying, "Are you an idiot, TDS is fine, there are no problems whatsoever." Again, people are acknowledging that TDS has problems over and over, but what makes it lacking to some people versus others is the issue.....just like any other park.

WHILE STILL BEING THE BEST DISNEY PARK EVER BUILT!!!!!!

    (sorry, couldn't help it :))
