SuperDry is quite right, the gyoza dogs WERE sold at that very snack cart behind Aquatopia for quite a while (perhaps even since the park opened or shortly thereafter), the same exact snack as the one in Mysterious Island. I was quite disappointed when they switched out for the fish lifesavers...I always went straight to Port Discovery for all my gyoza sausage bun needs after discovering the alternate location.
Originally Posted By Mr X **there hasn't been ONE person who has HATED TDS** As TDLFAN mentioned, Lee and Lindsay both have mentioned numerous times that they don't much care for DisneySea. In fact, one of them (don't recall whom) actually said that they considered both DCA and WDSP to be preferable to DisneySea. I personally can not understand that, but as they say there is no accounting for taste.
Originally Posted By TDLFAN >>TDLFAN, that is ncorrect. SuperDry is quite right<< Then I stand corrected. I never saw the same long gyoza bun being sold there... probably because I don't do the park food tour loop like the two of you probably do?

Since he's already in writer's self-promotion mode (not to imply that that's necessarily bad - it's part of being a writer), I would guess that the lightbulb went off in his head that this is an unfilled market segment that not only has no good books on the subject, but AFAIK none at all. He certainly must feel that he knows more than the typical WDW parkgoer about TDR (which he no doubt does) and that he did a bunch of research for his trip (which he probably did). Whether that makes him qualified to write the definitive guide to TDR, probably not. It sounded like his emphasis would be specifically toward the DL/WDW fan crowd that knows nothing about Japan and perhaps has no knowledge of overseas travel at all. A guide focused on people in that market that might have an interest in someday visiting TDR would actually be very useful. Since there are large segments of the US population that know nothing about those things, it stands to reason that the same would be true of the Disney fan community. But I'm just guessing that that would be his angle.

It wouldn't surprise me if he captures the very basics about visiting TDR, but I have my doubts about his ability to write a guide book that gives all the little suggestions and hints to maximize the enjoyment of the first time Guests. I'm sure there are more than a few peopple here on the boards that are much more qualified to provide such information.

Kevin is just taking advantage of something that should have been done years ago by the likes of us who have been to TDR a million times already. Honestly, If I had the drive and time to take on a project like that, I would have...long long ago.

DCA more preferable than Disney Sea.....I can never understand that also. And as to WDSP being more preferable than Disney Sea.... I don't believe it; no really, I truly do not believe the person who would come on here and tell us that he/she finds WDSP to be a more desirable park. Declaring such a thing is just spouting off to make a point and I would not take him/her literally or seriously. And since one declared that even BEFORE WDSP opened up some sorely needed attractions and areas like Crush Coaster and ToT section just makes me even more skeptical.

So, he goes to the Tokyo Disney Resort and has a massive Disney orgasm. Does he mention any of the genuine faults of the parks? No. He bitches about the wide slurry walkways which are a necessity in Tokyo Disneyland and are the result of some really good planning. Does he notice all the chipped paint? Forget it--he's too busy thinking about the book he's going to write after one trip. Spare me. I can also confirm that they sold the Gyoza dogs at the Snack cart up behind the Electric Railway's Discovery Port Station. Was surprised they were gone last time. However, the line at the cart in Mysterious Island hasn't been very long on my last two trips. Perhaps the fad is waning.
