If they price it right the monorail has a great future. I told my wife that the cost was $15 per day for an unlimited ride pass (which it had been the last time I was there). We decided that it was worth the extra money to minimize time in the heat so we decided to use the monorail anyway rather than "The Deuce".

When we got to the station we were totally shocked... they were offering all you can ride single day passes for $8. When you compare that to $5 for the equivalent pass on the Deuce, the monorail seemed darned good!! We were extremely satisfied with the service and would plan to use it on all future Vegas trips.

So… I think the future of the monorail depends on pricing it right. Obviously, $15 per day is too high. $8 per day is probably too low. I think the market would probably pay $10 per day and expect that is what they will finally arrive at.

Well, folks want free this and free that. Free airport transporation, free dining. A monorail system like Vegas' is what we give up.
