This is why women should always carry sharp objects. Or mace. Acid in an atomizer works.

Pirate John, everyone here knows you worked with dedication and love at your job as a CM. Don't let Ed's statements get you upset.

If you'll simply go visit his website and read a few pages, all will be made clear, and your sense of insult/personal offense will quickly dissolve into ... something else entirely.

It so much fun expressing yourself on these boards. I like the fact you get honest evaluations here.

For you unknowledgeable youngsters, john denver, was famous for saying, "far out"

He was a sanitized christian hippy. Not a druggy, and was seen on major networks with his arm around staunch republican entertainers, and a few gop politicians.

He was never a druggy though, he was an alcoholic.

In the end he had alcohol in him. His wife was leaving him. He'd been heavily drinking for several weeks, at least, and i believe the plane might not have been checked out thoroughly because of it.

When anyone says "far out" i always see john denver, wearing a santa clause cap, smiling back from some cbs sunday night muscial entertainment show.

From what I understand, Denver was a Democrat. Stumped for Carter and very supportive of Clinton's anti Arctic drilling stance.
A quick look at his political giving via "The Center for Responsive Politics" shows almost all his political contributions going to Tim Wirth (D-Colorado). There was one $500 contribution to a Republican.

He did have a drinking problem. He also was an admitted occasional user of pot. Personally, I don't separate drinking and drugs in terms of their effect on the body - only in terms of what is legal and what isn't -- but a drinking problem isn't different than a drug problem.

But there was NO evidence he had been drinking at the time he died -- only that he wasn't familiar enough with his new, experimental airplane (purchased the day before) to handle it correctly.

Now what the heck this has to do with a kid being shaken down for money in DCA is beyond me.

But should the children be allowed to get stoned as freely as adults. I just don't think so, i think they should have protections.

Should being stoned just be ignored accept when fire danger is present, or second hand smoke, or should there be an age limit, or height limit set for when a person is allowed to smoke in our society.
