It's funny how psychology can affect smells, though. Growing up I had a bit of an Oedipal streak where I really resented having to obey my dad. In particularly lawn care---I hated him telling me to mow the yard (despite it being a riding mower), and trimming the yard was worse (push-mower), and for a while I actually had to *rake* the yard; until my mom and I had finally convinced him that was pretty pointless (the raking). So all during my pre-teen and teenage years I *HATED* the smell of fresh-cut grass. It put me in a bad mood. I would hear people say how they love that smell, and I'd be like "Are you crazy?? How *could* you?"

Then I got to college, was free of "lawn duty", and after a while I realized to my surprise that I really enjoyed the smell of freshly-cut grass. Now I love it. And I don't have to mow any, and haven't for years.

Ironically though, I kinda miss it. It's outdoorsy, you get hot, sweaty, you're in nature...and now that I've passed those years where I can appreciate my parents more, when I'm at home I kinda wish I could mow for Dad. But he has a team of a couple of guys who do it now, along with others' yards (though part of me upon discovering this wondered, "Where the heck were they when *I* lived at home??" lol).

I also *HATED* having to help him with any farm work, and really resented him at times for some of it (helping him shovel out grain bins and breathing in and choking up grain dust was the *WORST*), but now whenever I'm home I eagerly help him with anything. He doesn't ask often but when he does I'm more than ready to help, and sometimes I'll go along with him on some "thing" just for the heck of it, or ask if I can help.

It's funny how growin' up can change ya...and in instances like these, for the better, thank goodness. lol

Yikes, let me get up from lyin' down on this couch, Dr. mele---okay, toys, people, toys! lol

I didn't realize how deprived I was :(

I had this Barbie-esque doll (I think it may have been Barbie's cousin or something) that was like flat-chested when normal but you cranked her right arm and her boobs grew.

I couldn't have Mouse Trap, but THAT'S the kind of toy I got.

I DID have every other board game imaginable. Does anyone remember the game The Gambler? It had this dice shaker that was super loud when you shook it, then you put the shaker thing on the game board to see what you won. I hated playing that game with my uncles, because that shaker thing turned into a weapon when they started cheating......

We had a push mower too. Man, I hated that freaking thing. It took me forever to mow the lawn because I had to run and hide whenever a car drove by or a person walked by because I was mortified that someone might see me pushing that stupid old thing. LOL

Luckily, I became REALLY allergic to grass and I didn't have to do yardwork anymore. I'm not so sure that was lucky though because I think I would have rather mowed the yard than have those stupid allergy attacks. It felt like I had glass in my eyes so I would rub the heck out of them until they swelled shut. It made me look really attractive. LOL

We didn't have it, but our grandparents on my mom's side did. It was always like a fantasy get-away to go there anyway (not cause home life was bad but because they were the "far away" gp's [45 minutes] and the house was so unique and fun), and little details like this wonderfully exciting, advanced, amazing game just heightened the fun of going there.

I'm okay now, but what's funny is it still scares my friend George who's my age---if I taunt him with he runs, LOL.

I was excellent at Perfection, but couldn't ever win at SuperPerfection.
