Back on thread, for me, the other do not miss at KBF, take time to still explore Camp Snoopy, it is such a lovely area, even though it is designed for kids. I also have a soft spot for Big Foot Rapids.

Most of my expectations were due to locals rave reviews of Knott's that I had read over the many months before my trips. So to the first time visitor to Knott's, make sure your expectations are not tainted by posters who have huge personal ties and histories with Knott's It's nice, we had fun, but it sort of just is what it is.

LOL Brotherdave and dabob2... Count me as another big fan of the Giant Dipper at Belmont Park. Hubby and I take a nice long walk down there and ride it every time we stay in Pacific Beach - most recently at the beginning of March. I've probably told this story here before, but I actually rode the Giant Dipper in May 1976 - just about six months before it was closed down along with the rest of the old, decrepit Belmont Park. Because the class of '75 behaved badly at Grad Nite in Disneyland, we - the class of '76 - were told we didn't get to go. So, they took us to San Diego. First night was Belmont Park. A quote from my girlfriend as we sat in the old, beat up train car (just like the one in the little museum/ticket office - only not refurbed, obviously ;-) and climbed the lift hill... "We are gonna die." LOL Next day, we went to the San Diego Zoo. And that was my Senior Trip.

I was there in 1975. Then in the mid -90's I was working at the Design Studio and helped with the install of the Main St. Animated Windows. We had a 3' tall barrier wall set up around the windows on the sidewalk and worked from 11pm to 6am during a various Grad Nites. Our install activities inevitebly became a new Main St. attraction each Grad Nite we were there. Sorry to hear you were screwed out of a great California tradition.
