Bottom line: you've got 4 choices to get between the 15 and the 57: the 210, 10, 60, and 91. Use your traffic reports or googlemaps and take the first clear one, I'd say.

We ended up taking the 91 to the 57 because I read the exit number to the 60 wrong but it seemed a fairly smooth ride. Thanks everyone for all the advice. It turned out mom (me!) was the more worried one.
