Maybe the jokes are not as good as they could be? Really I don't know, what would you do to improve the story?<< Just off the top of my head...why not have the preshow where Stitch escapes and they have him cornered in the theatre and we have to go in and help contain him if we are brave enough. It could be interactive where we have some sort of weapon that we use to contain him. Then once contained he escapes again this time not to be recaptured and we would have to escape the theatre in order not to be destroyed by Stitch. And as we exit Stitch is shooting the place up and sparks are flying and things are blowing up ect....I think they thought that Stitch alone would carry this attraction as he is very popular and the Stitch anamatrionic is amazing.

The entire plot of the attraction is Stitch escaping, and then the big guns take shots at him. There's nothing there to get ahold of, beyond the effects. At least AE had more of a setup beyond the big alien breaking out. And when he did, he was up in the rafters, he'd pulled out the big scary connector, he crunched the tech, he showed up on MY shoulders. There was just more of a story than what they're doing with Stitch.

After you had been on it once, the excitement was gone for going on it again... been there done that. I was so excited that they were doing something with Stitch, and in October I'll find out if it's as good as my friends make it out to be.

They would probably think a fart joke was funny too. We can't forget that most rides and attractions, especially in the MK, are not built for adults.

Spitting was also not allowed in my home.

They include visual references (through projections I think) of Stitch climbing around the chamber and hanging from pipes in the catwalk as the plasma cannons start firing. It apparently has helped make it a little better of a show and given more to look at it, but still not enough to completely fix it. So over the past few months since its opening, SGE has got a brand new ending that is in fact better than the old, new background narration that help explain what's going on and ease kid's fears(even if they are somewhat cheesy such as "Stitch escaped", and "this is fun" said by kid voice overs....think along the lines of the background narration in AE with sayings like "its my mother in law") and now some new effects that actually SHOW Stitch climbing around the chamber rather than assuming people would understand that from the cannons shooting all over the place. END SPOILERS---------------- If anyone gets a chance to see it in person, I'd love to her what you thought.

I was a Cast Member in TL at the time of its opening and, working in the merchandise shops (Merch of Venus and Star Traders) that the two auditoriums dump the riders into, can attest to at least one or two screaming or crying little kids in every group. Aside from its budget being slashed to under half of its original bidding, Stitch's major downfall is that it isn't advertised properly, as a scary, dark ride not suitable for little children. I got to talking with a buddy of mine recently who's a Disney fanatic, and he made a good point to me. Said that Stitch has much more potential than the outgoing Alien Encounter did because it features characters (well, mainly Stitch) that can be redeeming to little children, that would make them want to come back and experience the ride again because they like that character. I can't vouch for AE since I never rode it, but my friend also said that it was a ride that could be fully expereinced once because the main character(s) wasn't endearing to the audience. I can agree to that. I've since come back home to Utah, a goodly couple and a half thousand miles away from WDW, but I think that since the ride is undergoing some tweaking, it need s to be done correctly. If the ride is to appeal to all ages, it will have to do away with the darkness (there is at least a minute and some change of near blackness) and dull the sound some. Those are the two most common grievances people had about Stitch, and it seems that barring those two sensations that scared parents' children, they would have thought much higher of Stitch. Or, option two. They close the ride down and COMPLETELY rework it, plot and storyline and all. Since the ride was undercut quite drastically anyway, this option isn't really possible. Either way, my opinion of Stitch's Great Escape remains rather good. I like the experience, and excepting the fact Stitch never knew English (or at least how to speak it), I like the storyline. I think Stitch is being branded a horrible ride just because the two simple aspects of darkness and loudness, which can be tweaked to appeal more to the children.
