We are talking 3-4 miles of walking that is done at WDW each day. This causes grownups to become cranky. The best thing to do is use the stroller between lands, then let your kid walk between rides that are close together. In the real world don't you just hate when parents let their kids run everywhere in a store or the mall? One word, Stroller. Its good for the shopping parent, its good for the kid, and its good for you. Personally, if I'll be somewhere less than an hour, my 3 year old daughter doesn't need a stroller. She gets to hold my hand the whole time instead. When you get to 2-3 hours, it starts to become a neccesity.

However if you plan to see everything in that one day, just like one does before they have little kids-- then yes-- you will end up with a worn out kid, and an edgy parent. For a few years we went on less rides..took more breaks at shows / snacks etc -- and heaven forbid, missed a few rides....but it was still great being there. funny how grown ups become cranky walking 3-4 miles a day, yet walking 18 holes for golf is relaxing !
