It feels like when you have a family member that was a professional or professor and you love more of who they used to be rather than who they are.

What set Disney apart at one time was they were the innovators. Now they can only copy what has aleady been done.

I guess it's ok though. Afterall it's only DTD. It's not like it's a reflection on the parks, right. Maybe they could set up a go-cart track next time or maybe bungi jumping. How about a trampoline park or how about some of those carnival games like they have at Chester, and Hester's Dino-Rama.

I'm just worried about WDW turning into the ordinary.

Since we're talking about DtD, how was the Village that much more innovative?
As a kid, the worst part of every WDW vacation was a trip over there. I'd rather shoot myself.

But of course let's not add any fun diversions like a tethered balloon ride, people might actually enjoy themselves.

That's the point. It wasn't meant to be innovative. It was meant to sell Disney merchandise. It was never intended to compete with the parks. Build a bowling alley, build a Imax, build all the specialty stores, and restaurants you want. If you think kids have to be amused every waking moment put a Pooh's playground in, but make it free.
Just don't turn Downtown Disney into a carnival, with carnival like attractions.

I thought Nikki was the only one that graded us on our lousy spelling?

How can anything with pixie dust, timeshares, pin lanyards, foamhead buffets and DISNEY MAGIC! be ordinary?

I guess not. I try hard not to be the spelling and grammar police, but some things you just can't let pass by!

I don't have a problem with Disney putting stuff in to entertain the little ones. Its the quality of the little train that bothers me. I expect Disney to be the best of the best (especially with the prices Disney charges). If Disney wants to be seen as outlet mall quality then put in an outlet mall quality train. If Disney wants to be viewed as a premium quality resort, then outlet mall quality offerings shouldn't be there. This is where the Pooh Playground WOULD fit. As a free thingy to entertain the wee ones.
By the way, I don't have a problem with the balloon ride.
