I dont think i could visit Disneyland having to count my pennies. I couldnt imagine going and not having enough money to buy drinks, food or a souvenier if i wanted.

I've done Disney for super cheap. Living close, sometimes I want to go and not spend a ton of money. But I also live far enough away I want to spend more than just a couple hours there to make it worth my while. Eating in the park when you go so often is overrated. I've been to restaurants where the food was superb, but the next time I went it was cold and icky looking. Golden Horseshoe is the only place I've had consistent quality of food (especially the fries...I hate cold, limp fries). But with the Billies being moved for the summer, we probably won't eat there until they move back.

Do something that makes you stand out from everyone else.. Granted wasting your year at Disneyland does make you stand out, but for all of the wrong reasons...

You've got different tiers of APs. Some have no block out dates, some do. Am I missing something? Do you want them to add even MORE levels and price ranges of passes?

Originally Posted By 9oldmen >>So i guess paying less than two bucks a visit for people visiting the parks 365 days a year is the most Disney should charge?<< Yeah. Sure. But for most people, it's going to be more than 2 bucks a visit, since I'm assuming most people don't go 365 days a year(or this year, 366). If I go to an all-you-can-eat buffet, I'm going to pay the same price as that guy that weighs 300 pounds. He's clearly going to eat more since I weigh about 180. Should he pay more, and how are you going to measure that? 2 bucks a day is NOT "the most Disney charges". It's what they charge if you're one of those few who go every day, but then, how many people is that?

At either price if you went 1 day a month you get your moneys worth. 1 day hopper $125x12=$1500 parking $15x12=$180 G.T. $1680 yah AP's are a HUGE bargain, wish I still lived 2hrs away.

However, like we did last evening and so many others, it cost us about $60 for dinner, an ice cream cone and bottle of water. And we probably average going once every other week. 25 weeks or so with no less than $50 per visit for two. That's another $1,250 a year we hand over to the DLR. No other entertainment firm is as adroit at getting our money better than the DLR.

Someone with a pass with no blocked dates is probably going to "go more", see?. I have a PAP, so I guess I am paying about 2 dollars a day for a visit to the parks, or, for mostly, the POTENTIAL to visit the parks. Are you saying that if I suddenly find myself with no life, and a lot of free time, and if I go to the parks every day, I should pay MORE, adding yet ANOTHER level of pass? How would this system work? Would I have to decide at the beginning of the 365 days how many times I'm going to visit over the period, and then pay a spefic price based on a sliding scale? Or do I pay the $650, and then, after a certain number of visits, would my pass no longer work until I payed for an upgrade because I exceeded my limit? I guess you could keep arguing for your idea as nauseum, but what you're suggesting sounds far too complicated, and is NOT going to happen.

I have a PAP," Yea, i had a Pap too i kind of know how it works. I didnt buy a Pap because i went more only because of certain dates and in fact my Pap was used for a total of less than 10 days. "Are you saying that if I suddenly find myself with no life, and a lot of free time, and if I go to the parks every day, I should pay MORE, adding yet ANOTHER level of pass" Obviously, it shouldnt cost anyone less than $2 a day to visit Disneyland it really is a joke. "Or do I pay the $650, and then, after a certain number of visits, would my pass no longer work until I payed for an upgrade because I exceeded my limit?" Honestly i think if someone exceeds 30-40 vists a year on a Pap then maybe it's time for a break. "I would love for a Disney premium annual pass to have a cap of like 75 visits, " I agree.
Originally Posted By 9oldmen tashajilek, you keep repeating this "2 dollars a day" figure. That's only the cost if you get a PAP and go EVERY DAY. That's not what most people do. If most passholders, meaning more than half, were to do that, then that would mean that on every day that isn't blacked out, you would have about 500,000 APs descending on the park(along with non-AP guests), based on that figure of 1 million APs. You pay for the AP by the year(or month), not by the day.

It's a bit out of bounds when it becomes US vs Them discussion. Personally I am ready to pony up the $1300 to renew our PAP's in a few weeks. Then let the fun begin.
