Did they have to stay all day? It's been a long while since I've read the first article so I don't remember. There were times I'd stay all day and of course other times I didn't. I always bought a snack or beverage each visit. Sometimes a light meal or a small item from one of the Main Street shops. I've comforted the occasional "lost" child while flagging down a CM, I definitely got my exercise and had fun changing up my routine based on my mood or the weather, I'd take a book or play solitaire on my phone if I felt bored. But that was my park... in my neighborhood so I loved going again and again and again. I admit it lost some of the magic at times but I felt safe hanging out by myself or meeting up with a friend. And it was always a thrill when a friend or family member came on vacation so I could see things through their eyes. I cherish that time in my life and miss it so much I am considering moving back there again someday... under the right circumstances. So, from a local's perspective it makes perfect sense to me for the couple to do what they did. Would I do it? Probably not. But they got a pretty good prize at the end and I'm sure overall that had a great time getting there.

Well that's the point; there's a whole lot more going on here than just conversations about Disneyland.

It's not the kind of thing we like to offer up to people in conversation is it?

"Hi! My name is Jamie, but if you're a Disney fanatic like me, you may just know me as CuriousConstance from LaughingPlace.com I like to go on there and chat with fellow fans to get my "Disney fix" for the day, because I just can't get enough of all things Disney!!"

Even I want to hit myself.

The setting, the shops and the attractions... WDW really has nothing that comes close to competing with it.

I guess it is personal taste and also the fact of getting bored. I experienced both for the first time last year and i wasnt all that thrilled with Universal. Potter looks amazing, but i didnt care much for the ride. I love Carsland also, but i wasnt blown away with RSR either.

    Achievement?

And no. No one here has come within a mile of doing the exact same thing themselves.

Huh? I see people saying they wouldn't do it, and I see people poking fun at themselves for their own Disney obsession. With one exception, I don't think anyone has blatantly said anything mean or nasty.

    And...achievement? Really? And...jealous? Really?

Were there days when it was a kind of drag to go to the park? Or did it always lift their spirits to be in familiar surroundings? Did they have a particular routine or just wander about? Did the cast members get to know them after awhile? Will they take a long break now or are they eager to go back?

It's not an achievement in terms of a scientific discovery or something business related, but it is setting some sort of (nerdy) goal and sticking with it.

There's a guy who has eaten a Big Mac every day for 40 years. It's a strange thing, but for whatever reason he's done it. And imagine the fortune he could make if he merely switches to Burger King or Wendy's or Jack in the Box. "Believe it or not, I ate a Big Mac every day for 40 years. But the new Bacon Melt Extreme at (name of fast food rival) showed me just what I had been missing." Okay, not a fortune. But a couple hundred thousand I bet.

The people at Knott's or Universal or Legoland should contact these folks and make them an offer. ; )
