There is no country in the history of mankind who has not done people wrong in some way, so leave that to our schools to teach, and don’t give me a slanted view of how one historian feels about our past. I come to Disneyland Resort for fun, and to see the best of America, sorry if that offends you. I get "America is so bad" every day, and don’t want to pay to see more of it at The Disneyland resort. Again, happy to see Golden Gone.

Originally Posted By DlandDug >>Oh, and I really do like DCA, hope that is a realistic conclusion?<< That would be an opinion (one that we share). A realistic conclusion is based on extrapolated facts and opinion. Fact: Disney-MGM Studios was heavily attended in its first year. Opinion: DCA sucks. Fact: DCA was poorly attended in its first year. Opinion: Disney-MGM was heavily attended because people had to use their park hoppers. Facts and opinions: DCA was poorly attended and was widely criticized for its lack of attractions and detail. After several efforts to bring attendance to anticipated levels did not do so, DCA is undergoing an unprecedented makeover. Realistic conclusion: The DCA that opened in 2001 failed. Now, other conclusions may be drawn, based on the same facts and opinions. But that's the nature of discussion on the internet.

I'm wondering if you've ever seen The American Adventure at WDW. You would have hated the Forever Burning Settler's Cabin set ablaze by "unfriendly" Indians in Frontierland. Golden Dreams wasn't negative. It showed that despite obstacles immigrants and travelers of all stripes who came to this state were able to make vital contributions that created one of the world's most vibrant economies. The Disney brothers are the perfect embodiment of spirit of the film.

Again, having fun is why I go to Disneyland, maybe i'm alone in that, but that's me, guess i'm crazy.

Fact would be: DCA, had 5.5 million people visit(not real number just using as an example). Or you could say something like,(making up name now)Bob Smith, Head of Disney Corp said; "DCA was poorly attended in its first year." Now if he had said that it would have been a fact that he said those words. But the word "poorly" is an opinion, not a fact. Since we don’t have a base-line to judge the numbers on to make it a fact. Hope that helps.

But See if there was a sign over the cabin that said, "This family deserved to have their house burnt down" Then I would not have liked it. Does that clear it up for you?

It was in my opinion, a PC “ I’m a victim” portrayal. The Asian's in my family, have never felt like victims for coming to America, they feel lucky. But again that's just their, and my, opinion. And you have your opinion.

But See if there was a sign over the cabin that said, "This family deserved to have their house burnt down" Then I would not have liked it." Where in American Dreams did something like that happen? "The Asian's in my family, have never felt like victims for coming to America, they feel lucky." Some Asian immigrants to California were indeed victims and felt like it. Are those stories not worth telling? Again, everything at DLR shouldn't have to be about talking mice and pubescent mermaids for it to be interesting or entertaining.

If you're going to give us history, make it an honest one...including the warts.

Unless by realistic you mean "the opinion I've reached."
