You know what could cause Disney's costs to skyrocket? I'm not saying that it's the only reason that ticket prices are increasing (they have that huge NextGen project to pay for too), but it's hard to not think that it's a factor in the increase

Also, I suspect that many of Disney's employees will be on strict orders to never work more than a certain number of hours, to stay under Obamacare's 30-hours-per-week limit. Many places are already preparring for it (ironically, many universities are cutting work study hours for students who need financial aid, so that they won't need to pay for their health insurance), and I can't imagine a big company like Disney would let it catch them off guard

    Yep, you're probably right.

I want to avoid a big WE debate here, but IF the above is true regarding Disney cutting back hours to avoid offering healthcare coverage to cast members I would have to have a chat with myself about giving the parks my business. We're already about to break up over the constant price increases, and cutting worker hours to save on healthcare while constantly raising prices and reporting record attendance and earnings would probably be the end for me.

Thank You. I have spent enough on Disney. I think I will just save my money and do something else insted of doing 2 days at DW next yr. Maybe go to DC and see the stuff I didn't get to see while Living ther for 4 yrs. and most of it is free and see friends we haven't seen in 8 yrs as well. Thanks for making me think.

Still, as consumers it's important to be aware and consider where and how we spend our money. Disney offers some amazing experiences, but they pale in comparison to what the real world has to offer.

On another note it saddens me to read that a fellow Disney park fan is suffering from a serious illness. I wish you well Blufision.

Xrayvision pointed out in #60 that his girlfriend working part time/hourly at a Disney Store get a basic healthcare plan for $14/ month. There are not many retail stores at all that would offer a part time employee any health benefits whatsoever, so I am guessing Disney is not trying to get out of offering benefits at all. They are already ahead of the game there, and do so voluntarily.

As he stated Disney didn't offer full time positions except for one of the manager positions. His girlfriend and many other employee's would probably love to work full time to make more money and have better benefits, but it seems like Disney isn't offering full time work for the purpose of not having to shell out more money for health care. I have a friend that's a health care worker that can only work 37.5 hours a week so they don't have to give her benefits. Its really sad that more company's seem to be doing this.

It really doesn't have anything to do with anything here. He's trolling, hoping to get a reaction. It what he does here anymore.
