It's the thought and fact that someone at the helm of Disneyland decided having us, their customers, buy them a way out of the problem they created is arrogance. Politicians do that: Create a mess, and then try to tax their way out of it (anyone in California knows what I'm talking about). We just vote "No" and if it's really egregious we set up a recall vote. But the only "No" vote I have with Disneyland is "No, I won't buy it" and that's what my family and I have decided to do. Actually, they may have done me a favor with this slap in the face. For more years than I want to count, my family has set aside our disposable income for use at Disneyland, and have no regrets. But because of the price raise I actually reviewed what we have been spending annually at Disneyland and was quite surprised at how much it really has been (no, shocked actually, to be fair). With that kind of money, my husband and I have spent the last week looking around for other fun opportunities to spend it now that Disneyland is out of the picture, and it's a whole new "World" out there (and I don't mean WDW). See you in Orlando sometime.

Not to be rude or anything ImTempest, or upset you further, but I think the whole point is to reduce the number of APs sold. Too many people have complained about the gridlock at DLR and Disney must do something about it. The massive day crowds descending on the place year-round at greatly reduced admission fees is not a sustainable way to operate a resort.

I think their only current problem is having too many people to contend with at the parks. It's too much. And if their goal is to appeal to more tourists, that will never happen with the current crowd level being so unmanageable. Everything has become too crowded at DL. Waiting HOURS for a decent view of shows, fireworks, parades is ridiculous. I've never seen some of the shows because I refuse to waste my valued, precious, small amount of vacation time sitting waiting 3 hours for a 25 minute show or parade or fireworks show. Having to travel so far, and spend so much extra money on food, hotels, and travel expenses to get to DL, I can appreciate their attempt at making the parks more manageable for my vacation. The standstill gridlocks at DL after fireworks or shows reach levels that are unsafe for everyone. Reducing the number of people will make the experience for vacationers AND APers drastically better.

If they are wrong, they will find out soon enough, and drop the price back down to where it was. But they aren't wrong.

What problem are you talking about? "I think their only current problem is having too many people to contend with at the parks. It's too much." And now they even expect to get much more popular. What a devastating problem.
