Also, I fully expect some AP's to come watch it multiple times just in this coming season, if only to see different narrators. Which brings up an interesting point: DL has always had pretty much A-list narrators for CP (the year my high school did it, it was Jimmy Stewart), or B-list at worst. With 20 nights now, and especially if this becomes the new normal, can we expect to see Disney Channel narrators and the like?

As far as the location: DBitz2's suggestion that it'll happen in Town Square for the invitation only events and in the Fantasyland Theater or Festival Arena seems to make the most sense. I can't imagine Disney keeping up the staging in Town Square for a good chunk of December and trying to keep the crowds moving through the area for 20 performances during the busy holiday season; hence my initial thought that Candlelight might be an after-hours, hard ticket event. Regardless of where it's held, I'd expect the AP tickets to go fast. Considering the response D23 got for the last couple of years for their holiday events that featured seats at Candlelight, I'm not so sure about the dinner packages.

Originally Posted By FerretAfros Looks like the Candlelight at Epcot is scheduled to run this year from November 23 through December 30, with 3 shows each night, for a total of 108 performances. The narrators they've announced so far include big names like Neil Patrick Harris, Whoppi Goldberg, Jodi Benson, Olivia Newton John, Gary Senise, and Marlee Matlin. Hopefully DL's 'extended' run is able to maintain the high quality that it is known for during the single weekend event, that WDW has managed to maintain for weeks on end

Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>Is this the first extended schedule year at Epcot?<< Nope, they've been running it that long for years. I don't know the exact details, but Epcot has always had a much longer run of the Processional than DL. I'm not sure when it moved there from MK (or what it was like at MK), but it's been like this since at least the mid-90's, and likely much longer. The American Gardens Theater where they do the show in Epcot is really only used for the Candlelight Processional and the seasonal rock concerts that come with the Food & Wine and International Flower & Garden Festivals. Given that they're in a venue that's otherwise vacant (as opposed to the middle of the park's main entry/exit point), it's much easier to keep normal park operations while it's going on. The only added difficulty is coming up with a cast that big (the Epcot crew is smaller than DL's 600+, but still quite sizeable) for a show that runs so long, through the time that most people want to spend with their families.

Go to any liturgical church on Christmas Eve and there will be a processional with candles, a large choir singing Christmas Hymns and the Christmas story will be read from the Bible. I don't get why this event is such a big deal.

So, I guess that it will be in Town Square. The place is going to be a mess in December.

Yeah, I see the appeal, but it's not that big of a deal with 20 nights of performances.
